April Sipdown Prompt – a finicky tea

SIPDOWN! Not a favorite, mostly because of the salted cherry leaf. Once or twice it hit just right with breakfast, but I am also not the biggest fan of darjeeling.

The first time I made it I just saw “black tea” on the front and made it that way. Disaster. Darjeeling needs careful temp and time for me to find it palatable. The last time I drank this I forgot again and used boiling water. Today I remembered it was darjeeling but it was the last of the bag and I didn’t realize that all that dust was salted cherry leaf and not tea leaf. It came out thin, weak, and sour.

Moving on to something to sip on for the rest of the morning.

Your prompts are just the best!

Thanks, gmathis! I have fun coming up with them! I have used a couple of your suggestions and have a few left to sprinkle throughout the year! They help pad things out and keep inspiration flowing!

I had a couple others simmering in the back of my addled brain…if I can remember, I’ll share for your evaluation purposes.

Thank you!

I was expecting a strongly flavored tea, however this is not the case. I can not actually taste the cherry petals at all. I generally don’t drink Darjeeling because of its astringency, however I can tell this is a good Darjeeling tea. I would recommend this for Darjeeling drinkers. (My score reflects the fact that I don’t really like Darjeeling too much)
