Sipdown (320)

I’m sorry Arby but this is disgusting. It smells and tastes like mud or dirt or something just not good. I know you hoped you’d find someone to enjoy this but it is certainly not me. Thank you for sharing though because it gave me the chance to try something new and it helped me be certain that I should never by this tea.

Coldbrew using 1 tsp leaf + 500 mL cold water

I kinda dig the grainy roasted orzo base, however this has the bitterness that char or dark roast coffee has. Vanilla soy milk helped the bitterness slightly, however it really needed a sweetener + soy milk for me to find it drinkable. If you like orzo/roasted barley, you will enjoy this. If you hate bitterness, steer clear. As for the spices, I can taste clove, cinnamon, and maybe a few other spices. It is a good spice blend.

So much potential…the loose leaf smells great too. Who would drink something this bitter though? Ick.

The one orzo tea I tried from them was a disaster for me too. Waaaay too bitter and burnt, and nothing could fix it.

Oh no.
Oh nooonono.
This is the gamble you take when you purchase a tea with no reviews on it yet. But if this first note deters others from wasting their money on this, then I’m glad some good came out of it.
Now, I’m not one to shy away from the strange and bitter, but this was so wrong. Dried basil? Yeah, that’s all I can taste in this ‘chai’ orzo. Maybe basil in chai has been done well somewhere, but I think it belongs with savoury food. That aside, this was just so bitter that no amount of milk and sugar could save it. Not even vanilla soy, which can be a last resort to perk up moderately bleh teas, could help this unpalatable blend.
My house consists of people with very varied tastes and not one of them could finish a cup. Wouldn’t give this to an enemy.
