Sipdown (212!)
I liked this one, and I’ll miss it. Sadly I oversteeped it had to tone it down with milk. But with milk it’s still strawberry goodness and tart rhubarb.

I need to sip, sip, sip so I can get more lovely Lupicia teas!

This tea has been sitting in the back on my stash for some time now. I get the rhubarb/strawberry pie combo reference, but it makes me feel like something is missing on the sip…the crust. The Butiki attention to detail leaves me wanting more in all my teas and this tea reminds me of a lesser version of her Ruby Pie. It is hard to taste much on the sip where I get flatness (which I’m hoping changes as it cools) and most of the flavor comes in on the aftertaste. I get lots of strawberry flavoring, slightly chapstick like, but no rhubarb which could be pairing with the strawberry so well that it isn’t noticeable. Overall this tea isn’t striking me as very remarkable and I’m very tempted to put it in my purge pile, which is my new thing. I’m tired of being on tea buying hiatus, trying desperately to sip down all these teas I feel are mediocre for my tastes. It’s like I’m punishing myself for enthusiastically wanting to try a shit ton of teas for the past few years and I’m done with tea purgatory. I only want to drink teas I LOVE. 2017, is going to be the year of fantastic tea!

That sounds like a great resolution! I might have to adopt that policy myself.

My give away/get rid of pile is filling a grocery bad at the moment. I had forgotten about some I love in a hidden cupboard (which was my fourth tea storage spot to give an idea of the level of tea madness that exists at my house) and had to compost a couple that had ingredients that went bad. I’m thinking of doing a traveling box that doesn’t come back to me with all the tea that is still good. 2017 will also be the year of mindful purchases, tea and otherwise. And more exercise. And focusing on what direction I want my business to go. I’m starting my NY resolutions early!

Meanwhile, I’ve watched four seasons of Torchwood in eight days and just about managed to organise my tea cupboards (two huge ones, completely full of boxes jam-packed with tea) and not much else… You’re making me look bad! XD

Dustin

LOL! Planning to organize my cupboard and do better next year is about as put together as my life is right now!

Nattie

Lol! I make lists all the time like ‘damn I’m so organised’ then never do anything on the lists :’)

This was my 2nd ever loose leaf tea! Pretty tasty and WOW IT SMELLS SO FRICKIN GOOD. I haven’t had it in a while but I remember it being a lighter black tea, not too bitter, and the strawberry flavor was very sweet and prominent. Did I mention the smell was to die for.
