I’m (always) late to the party, but “dirty soda” is now a thing around here … soda pop with cream and/or whipped cream. It just sounds like a melted root beer float to me, or the non-carbonated version of what you just drank :)
Dirty makes it sound like there is coffee in it
I live in the heart of Mormon Country, the birthplace of the “Dirty Soda”, so there are dedicated shops to them all over my town. I don’t really care for them, but I suppose if I wasn’t allowed to drink coffee or tea maybe I’d feel otherwise. (Honestly they taste fine, they are just SO abominably sweet, and typically if I’m in that sort of mood I’d rather go for a baked good, not a super sugary drink.)
It’s migrated to Missouri, then! Funny how flavor trends travel. We were at a local farmer’s market a couple weekends ago and one of the dairy proprietors was selling root beer milk by the quart.
I’ve seen dirty soda making the rounds on Instagram but had no interest in trying it ha ha. Although I don’t drink regular soda either, so clearly not the target audience… XP
