“Holy crap-a scented Andrew Liquid Proust Black! I was stoked for this. It’s been a few years since he’s barrel scented some stuff, the last being Rummy Pu which was so good. I was also stoked it...” Read full tasting note
High in Laoshan and Light in Rye.
This is a project I have been thinking of for near two years and after playing around with barrels since 2016 I finally took the chance on a rather pricey project.
Rye barrel stored laoshan black tea will come in two batch, the first batch here will be light in storage. The second will come out later and will have a completely different profile.
The storage on this was checked up on a few times until it hit the spot I wanted. The moment that the leaf was breaking down from the vapors that eliminated the slight hardness that comes from black tea when pushed.
The rye barrel over the shorter period of time creates a background note of black raspberry dark chocolate bars or possibly red current truffles. It’s extremely complex and changes dramatically in aromatics and taste throughout the session.
This is a masterpiece for me.
Samples are at 25g.
High Laoshan Light Rye will not be replicated in the future, there are too many ideas in my mind to revisit it without someone dropping $$$ on me. This is a tea that’ll provide memories :)
