From LeafSpa Organic Tea

This certified organic Qi Lan Oolong is a wonderful experience for those interested in slightly lighter and more ‘qing-xiang’ Wuyi Oolongs than the usual strongly-roasted varieties. The ‘Hui Gan’ (sweet aroma after drinking) is very intense and offers a delicious and easy way into high-end tea drinking. A slow exhale after each sip reveals the tea’s beauty and complexity every time. We like to think of this tea as Qi Dan’s little brother, since it shares many characteristics with that tea, but quite a different overall flavor.

Very interesting tea.

I had tried only very few roasted Oolongs so far, have a preference for the greener kind. LeafSpa’s description is actually very accurate.

While at first I wasn’t convinced at all by that sense of powerful smokiness, I eventually understood how this tea had to be drank to be properly savored: slowly.

The taste actually evolves as you sip on this one. The obvious roastiness which I’m not too fond off is what initially hits you but it’s soon enough replaced by a lingering thick sweetness that is highly addictive. This is a tea that I had to get used to but have my first 3 cups I finally got it and now find it really enjoyable.
