From Lady J’s Lightwork & Apothecary

This tea blend works to tackle the two biggest issues for troubled sleepers- physical restlessness and mental/emotional restlessness. A nice, warm cup of this tea will settle you into bed for a glorious nights sleep and peaceful dreaming!

To tackle an awake body, valerian root, California poppy, and hops ( yes, THOSE hops) are gentle sedatives which work to prepare your body for a restful sleep. For the awake mind&spirit: skullcap, wood betony, vervain, chamomile flowers, jasmin flower, rose petals, as well as the three previously mentioned sedative herbs are all nerve tonics which help calm anxiety and restless minds to prepare the spirit to rest.

Along with these sleep allstars, I added a few more herbs to play a supporting role in your cup- ashwagandha is an adaptogen which helps your body cope with physical stress, so it will help your body recover from the day while you sleep. Mugwort promotes vivid dreaming- some even say mugwort promotes astral travel while asleep… Hence the name of this tea blend. Finally, fennel gently promotes digestion and gut health, so it helps your body process and absorb the goodness from all the herbs to ensure you make the most of your nights sleep!

This blend is can be steeped multiple times (until the herbs are steeped out and the water is clear) and is available in 2 purchasing options, each costing only $12:
- 4oz. tin of loose leaf tea
- 10 pre-filled unbleached, organic tea bags

From the TTB. This one tastes more like a medicinal herbal blend than one you drink for fun. The anise was a bit too strong, and the other flavors were just sort of boring and in the background. It was okay to drink cold, but I wouldn’t want it again.

TTB 2022
Wow there is a lot going on with this tea. Not sure it all blends together well and it needs an aftertaste tamer like mint or citrus. I did two steeps before bedtime last night and slept about the same, though I did get up in time for my yoga class that I sometimes sleep through so maybe it was helpful to my sleep. I might be tempted to purchase and add spearmint or lemongrass to see if it makes it more palatable.
