A whole-leaf black tea grown 5000 feet above sea level, in the valleys of the Andes Mountains, where the air, cool from the snow-capped peaks of the Andes, mingles with air moist and warm from the Amazon. A blended cultivar, not a specific cultivar as from China or Assam. A completely unique cup. If you need a comparison to tea from another origin, you might find Bolivian black tea akin to Assam black tea, but without the bite that many people find harsh and don’t like in Assams. Bold, strong, malty, earthy sweet, woody, burgundy, raisiny, roasted sweet potato, nurturing are all terms that come to mind as you savor this hand-harvested, orthodox-processed, organically-grown black tea.

As for the other features…the leaves are long and hard but unwind nicely! It infuses to a nifty-bold Med-dark Brown! The smell of the post-infused tea minus the leaves (tea stand-alone, that is) reminds me of a sweet potato type smell but also quite malty!
This tastes very good! Bold, Malty, a little sweet but a tad bitter – but in a good way, and has a slightly spicy/woodsy aftertaste that lingers more sweet than spice – perhaps more like pepper than other spices…at least hints of it.
This IS unique and quite good! I’m so happy I was able to try this one! I have missed Kteas Tea…haven’t had them in a while…I’ve enjoyed their offerings in the past!

This is a really delightful tea. Chewy, sweet, delicious. I look forward to exploring it further.

Now that I’ve finished the cup and my headache is subsiding, I can say that it’s incredibly smooth. Much smoother than an Assam. Very nice. Reminds me a bit of Dawn, except that where Dawn has that chocolate-y note, I think that this one has more of a deep fruity note… like raisins. I really like it.
Cool, Bolivia isn’t a place you think of when you hear about good-quality teas!
No, I think of fine quality chocolates and watches but not tea. But this one is very good.

This one is from my foodzie box from LiberTEAS.
Oh man. This is fantastic. The leaves are a little shiny, twisted, and thicker than most black teas, but when they brew up, they are huge. My infuser basket is almost overflowing! The resulting tea is a dark, thick, reddish brown. It has a heavy mouthfeel. It is malty, roasty, woodsy and complex. There is a slight bit of astringency at the end, and a very slight hint of briskness. Really, a fabulous breakfast tea. (Fabulous even for the serious tea drinker in me! :D)
I did take some time to check out this company online. It looks as though they offer some very unique things (I am eyeing those Hawaiian teas…..) I am putting this on the shopping list.
Usual teapot method. I think I am going to try a resteep, too.
