From Jing Tea

A new addition to our flowering tea range, the Flowering Dragon Eye Tea. This is a light and fragrant green tea wrapped around a pot marigold in the base, an arch of pure jasmine blossoms and a globe amaranth flower which blossoms above when infused.

One of our most spectacular jasmine flower teas.

I received this flowering dragon eye last month with my subscription on jing tea. Very exited to try my first flowering tea!

Before infusing this green tea ball i notice a very strong flower smell probably the marigold or the amaranth giving that special scent.

The tea ball seems to be tight very well together, so its ready to pour boiling water over it. I’m a little bit surprised to use boiling water on green tea but its on the package label so we use it. When the infusion starts everything is going on at once, the ball floats on the top of the water and slowly starts to sink and unfurl revealing the yellow marigold flower, then the jasmine arch gets raised with the beautiful amaranth flower on top!

Have to say one off the most pretty tea’s i ever drank, its a bit sad to pour the tea into my cup because everything fall flat when the water is gone.

Anyway time to let this baby cool and start tasting!

The color of the brew turns out to be a golden green tint and looks very tastfull. My first sip i can clearly pick out the jasmine mixed in are different tastes but thats from the other 2 flowers in there. Very good taste not to overwhelming aroma’s. I’m happy with this, going to make some more infusions from the same bulb. Pretty sure the other brews are going to be good in taste to. So going to make a new note soon!
