From Jenier World of Teas

Grown between 3500 to 5500 feet above sea level it’s understandable why Golden Nepal Maloom is described as a tea from the ‘roof of the world’. From the Ilam district in Tibet, this tea has the character of a Darjeeling tea and takes its name from a small village near the tea estate. Out of the total Maloom village population of around 800, over 300 are involved in the production of tea, an industry that has seen the community develop and gain good health facilities, a school, a post office, bank and village run shops. Owing to the first harvest being late February to mid April, the plants are watered by the soft Springtime rains which bathe the tips of the plants producing a light aromatic tea, with a wonderful golden bronze colour and pleasant taste. Can be taken with or without milk, and whilst good to drink anytime, makes a particularly good afternoon tea.
