This tea is produced on the Satrupa Estate located in Assam – the remote eastern area of the Himalayan Foothills. There is a strong community link between the employers and employees. Free housing, medical facilities, child care and an elementary school are provided for employees. One member of the community is a 65 yr old elephant called Lokhi who regards the Satrupa Estate as his home; such is the fellow feeling!
