Really suprisingly wonderful! I grew up in Japan and was very pleased to find Ito En at costco- I was very skeptical at first, but the excellent quality of this tea really won me over, and the bags (silk-like [nylon perhaps?] pyramid bags) were so convenient! Before this I had lost all faith in bagged tea, and I have Ito En to thank for restoring it. Also, the matcha in each pouch is really awesome, and the plastic pouches are perfect for purses- totally airtight! I would highly recommend this tea, especially if you’re a busy person as well as a tea aficionado reluctant to go back to bagged tea. I usually steep for 30 seconds after letting boiled water cool for 2~5 min.

I LOVE this green tea. The steeping instructions say to only leave it in the water for 30 seconds, I say “screw that. I’ll steep as long as I want.” I usually go for 2-3 minutes, and I don’t get any hint of bitterness. I do like my green tea strong; strong and bitter, however, is not pleasant.

The tea definitely has a matcha-taste, despite much of it appearing to stay in the plastic packet the tea bag comes in. Sometimes I dump the dust into my cup, other times I don’t. Depends on how I feel that day! Speaking of the plastic packet…I love that each bag is packaged in plastic that is fully-sealed. I actually got this box of tea at Costco about 4 years ago. Still as fresh today as it was when I first opened the box. Expiry, schmexpiry. Best before dates translate to “more interesting after dates” to me. :) Except milk. Yuck expired milk.

Verdict: would definitely buy this again; in fact, will be going to Costco to pick up another box this weekend.

Really good. My boyfriend doesn’t like green tea very much but likes this one. The flavor is definitely matcha. It gives very short steeping directions but doesn’t seem to get bitter if oversteeped.

I love the full flavor of green tea this brand offers. The flavor is good enough to drink without any sweeteners and milk. I will have to say this is the best green tea in terms of quality, taste, and price.

Definitely shocking to try a costco re-branded tea that I really enjoyed. I don’t drink Japanese greens very often, and almost never drink bagged teas, but this is always available at work and occasionally finds its way into my cup.

It’s a nice full bodied green with that tinge of strong vegetal fragrance that you find in Japanese greens. For a bagged tea it definitely exceeds expectations and I’m shocked to say that I’ve really enjoyed it the few times it’s found its way into my mug.

I thought it was funny to see Kirkland Signature brand Japanese matcha/green tea until I noticed that it was actually Ito En rebranded for Costco. I’ve been very happy with most Ito En products in the past so I was excited to try it.

All in all, it isn’t that impressive, but it is still hard to beat for the convenience and price. The taste is a little bitter but I’ve rarely seen anything better in a bag or pouch.
