From Herbs & Kettles

Luxurious and rare black tea from Assam composed purely of the most premium golden buds. Extremely rich mouthfeel and a superb lasting aftertaste. Notes of honey, malt, oak, cacao, yellow raisins and spices like cardamom and cloves.

he Assam Golden Needle was chosen by us as it is a very memorable and luxurious tea composed of the most premium golden buds. It is absolutely marvelous with an extremely rich mouthfeel with a creamy, viscous texture and superb lasting aftertaste. This is a tea we are very proud to have, and definitely think it is for a tea aficionado who is looking for a unique and exquisite tea! You can steep this tea multiple times, with each infusion having the same luxurious mouthfeel but revealing subtleties in aromas and flavors.

The Golden Needle is an artisanal tea that is made in very small quantities in the summer. The most premium buds are carefully handpicked from the premium P-126 cultivar of the Camellia sinensis var. assamica plant, and then withered, oxidized and dried. Once you have had our Assam Golden Needle there is definitely no going back and you will keep coming back for more!

Gongfu!

Trying another of the tea samples that was kindly gifted to me! The dry leaf is so tippy and beautiful with a sweet aroma of warm baked goods coming off the fuzzy little golden buds. Steeped, I was pleasantly taken aback by how much the early infusions reminded me of home-baked gingerbread – definitely from the rich notes of molasses carried throughout the session, but also a presence of malt, raisin, brown sugar, and subtle spice notes as well. Very, very smooth liquor and really nice lingering dark sweetness that coats the back of the mouth and throat after each swallow!
