From Harney & Sons

Emeric Harney had the pleasure of traveling to Rukeri Estate a few years ago, beginning our relationship with this estate. A beautiful estate of bright green, rolling hills, just beside a very well known lake in Africa, Lake Kivu.
In memoriam to a great tea man: Joe Werthiem, we offer this tea from his estate in Rwanda. Joe established it many years ago, and it has become a desired source of tea in many a blend. This particular tea is made in the orthodox way (rather the strong pellets from the CTC way), so it is a more mellow and sophisticated offering of Rukeri.
Medium twisted orthodox black leaves
Sweet toasty flavors like roasted onions

Nice bold tea. Now that it is mentioned I do agree with the slight toasty sweet roasted onion flavor. A sweet flavor with a bit of a bitter after taste.
