This was a good tea, but nothing remarkable. Pretty solid black tea with a hint of current and a slight bite of bitterness on the end. Overall decent, but not my favorite.

Slept at 1am because of my cousin’s celebration party thing. Woke up at 5 to catch my 7am flight to make it on time for my sister’s graduation!
Yep. I had this tea on the place :) Thank you QueenOfTarts for supplying me with the tea, and awoogah for supplying me with the sweetener (DAVIDs agave sticks)!
Sadly, this tea isn’t as great as I remembered it :( When I first had it, I tasted the nice vanilla and caramel, but today, all I tasted was the chestnut. Even understeeping it a little bit turned out to be fairly bitter, luckily I had the agave to help!

But thank you tons, QueenOfTarts for sending this tea my way!

awoogah

I saw some pictures of the confirmation on Facebook, and it looked so beautiful. Send congratulations to your cousin for me! xox

Also, the agave sticks are nice and sweet just like you … which is why it was perfect ;)

OH ALSO I HOPE YOUR SISTERS GRAD WAS FABULOUS

I laughed and cried when I got your package okay. It was the best thing in the entire world! Being sweet as agave is probably the best compliment I’ve ever received.

Confirmation was great. Graduation was great. FREAKIN TIRING WEEKEND. Yesterday I was up for 18 hours, running on 3 hours of sleep. So very tired, but was totally worth it :)

I received this sachet as a free sample with my order. I was a little nervous when I opened the packet and overwhelmingly smelled fruit. But as it steeped the black tea base came through and the citrus became a nice accent.

This tea tastes very nice. The black tea base is strong with a beautiful fruit flavor. I can’t taste any of the caramel, but maybe that’s what is making the tea so smooth on it’s way down!

Molly sent me a couple of sachets of this that she’d just picked up so they’d be fresh, how sweet is that? There’s such a wide spread among the Steepster reviews and I can see why a lot of folks would love this smooth, flavorful tea, though I fall among those who are less enamoured, because it’s a bit too perfumey for my taste. The flavors are nice enough: I think Rebeccah hit it on the nose, so to speak, by calling it cherry pipe tobacco (I’d pulled out cherry and tobacco as predominant before reading her post, funny). Dark berry and bergamot are also apparent, and something smooths it out, like vanilla, which makes an appearance in the immediate aftertaste. Strong berry fragrance but this is not a typical light-bodied berry tea, it’s much rounder.

This is my favorite black tea that I’ve tried. I love the delicate aroma of caramel and vanilla, and the taste, with some sugar and milk, is just like a dessert. Shoot, I don’t even eat “dessert” anymore, I just drink teas like this! It’s amazing and has just the right amount of caffeine… (Am I the only person who sometimes gets put to sleep with delicious black teas? Earl Grey being number one on that list) It comes in a beautiful tin, is highly affordable, and is something I recommend everyone try (at least once!)

I’m not really a fruit-tea lover. They mostly taste a bit too chemical for my taste. I must admit I got a bit suspicious when I read the label: “Black tea with fruit and caramel”, but I got my hopes up anyway because hey, it’s Harney & Sons tea. This one also seems one of the best-sellers, so I had very high expectations.

The caramel/vanilla tone certainly adds a little smoothness and disposes of the cheap-ass-fruit tea flavor, but this remains a very boring, bland tea. I was hoping to get more out of the caramel.

Best fruit tea I had in a long while, but it stays a fruit tea. No favourite.

For people longing for a tea with an adventurous taste, I would recommend the Bangkok tea from Harney&Sons instead.

First thing that struck me as soon as I opened the tin (which I love) is the scent! Such a gorgeous mingling of vanilla and something else I can’t quite identify, maybe bergamot?
The actual tasting wasn’t overwhelming at all which I was a little worried about given how strong the scent was, I steeped it for five minutes and added some milk and sugar- this took me straight to my happy place. I could imagine sipping this in a small cafe in Montmartre ;] love love love!
