This taste very similar to a Japanese sencha…

Surprisingly great

I think this was the third tea in my simultaneous taste test from the GCTTB4. (And again from Ubacat!)

I agree that this tea tastes a lot more like a green than a white. Nice body. I think it was my second favourite of the teas that I tried, after the Bi Luo Chun from YS.

Got this as a sample with my first Aliexpress order. I was mostly interested in a black tea that yyz had reviewed but the most amazing teas to me have been this white and a green.

This tea tastes pretty much like a green. It’s sweet , nutty, slightly astringent. It brews up a medium amber colour which is quite dark for a white. I think I read somewhere that this tea is really a green but called a white in it’s name. I have no idea but it is very “green” tasting. It’s very good and I would consider buying more of this. Delicious!

I’ve liked his greens too!

Anji bai cha is called a white tea not because of it’s processing but because of it’s appearance. As a result of genetics it produces less chlorophyll and therefore appears whitish next to other cultivars. As well the tea has been said to help suppress cortisol and help you relax due to it’s unique biochemistry. Http://www.teaspring.com/An-Ji-Bai-Cha.asp

Thanks for the info yyz! That’s good to know. I think I had too much caffeine to notice if this was reducing cortisol but it would be good to put it to the test one afternoon when I’m working and stressed.
