I’m pretty sure this has other things in it than just rooibos and lemon myrtle. I really dislike the fact that their ingredients lists are so flipping terrible.

Anyways, this tea is something I should hate yet I’m going through it like I’d like to go through ice cream on a hot summer’s day. I’m almost half way through the package, and I opened it yesterday. Yeah.

It tastes like rooibos. It’s medicinal. It has citrus peels of some sort and some dark berries in it. It doesn’t smell that great. And yet, here I am making another litre of it iced (hot brewed 10 mins, poured over ice, topped with cold water) to drink before bed.

Head. Desk.

In other news, the GIGANTIC Butiki order is at the post office, so I’ll be picking it up tomorrow (When do they open?! I want tea!). That should be fun. :D

Oh, and I have a job. Like, a real job as a lab tech. Flexible hours depending on how I’m feeling and what experiments are going on. YES.

Congratulations on the job :)

Kittenna

YEAH! Gigantic Butiki order! I assume this is the group thing you guys did? That’s so exciting!

Sil

Yay! Cant graduations on the job AND finally getting your shared order in haha good times!

OMGsrsly

Yes, the group order! I need to unearth my table from the sewing mess so I can do a open box photoset! :D So excited. And thanks about the job, guys! My new boss is very casual about the contract but I’m insisting we meet next week to hash it out. I only want 32 hours/4 days, and she usually expects about 37 hours. Of course, since it IS lab work, I know I’ll be coming in on random days at random times to finish things, but 32 hours is about perfect for me.

Sil

Auto correct sucks….that’s congratulations lol not that you didn’t know what I meant haha

Fjellrev

I know this is rooibos, but I hope Granville offers at least some good stuff. Too bad it failed on you.

Words can’t express how excited I am for the order. Seriously, thanks a bumbillion for doing this!

And congrats on the job. :)

OMGsrsly

I’m not super impressed with their teas so far, sadly. I mean, they’re pretty decent for less expensive loose teas, but they’re only offered in 50g+ sizes and they don’t have full ingredient lists!

This one is so weird because I dislike rooibos, but I think after I try one from Butiki I’ll make another litre of this to drink. It’s really refreshing and medicinal (which I do like, I know I’m weird), even though the flavour isn’t “yummy”.

(Yay Butiki! OMG, my living room smells amazing.)

Fjellrev

Ack, too bad you have to purchase at least 50g there. I have faith that there must be some other good local tea shops in Vancouver though!

I honestly wouldn’t know where to start on that parcel if I were you! I’d just stare at it in awe haha.

OMGsrsly

I’m starting with the samples! :D :D :D

There are lots of good tea shops here. I was really impressed with Herbal Republic (Teaz on Granville). They have a nice selection of herbals and fruity teas. Haven’t tried any black teas yet, but the ones I sniffed smelled pretty darn good. They sell pre-packaged plastic-lined-paper-bags, but also fill tins if you bring them in.

Fjellrev

I’m so glad you’re enjoying the tea. Just relax and sip on the awesomeage!

Herbal Republic sounds interesting, especially since I’ve been meaning to get more fruity teas for cold brews. I hope I can make a trip down to Vancouver before class starts again. :)

OMGsrsly

http://steepster.com/teas/herbal-republic/37955-nanas-fruit-garden This one is really good for a plain fruit tea. I like it hot brewed over ice. I’m almost out of this one too, and it’s only been a week!

Fjellrev

I love how you can get 10g samples. I wish more companies did that. They’ll definitely be getting my business!

OMGsrsly

They’ll bag samples in-store as well.

So I asked for recs because I knew I was going to Granville Island and OMGSrsly told me that THIS was the one to get. And I listened.

Then I came home and read her reviews and… Umm… “This tea is something I should hate”, and “Oh yeah. This tea won’t be getting a great rating from me even though I repurchased 100g today. I’m really undecided about it because it is everything I dislike, yet it’s so refreshing I keep drinking it. Weird, I know.

Hahaha. It’s a good thing I didn’t read that first!

I am enjoying it – it reminds me of Lemon Chiffon, without being creamy. It’s just lemon, a little bit of creaminess, and a little bit of zing (from the orange peel?). I’m halfway through my 50g now, so… I may re-stock before I move! More bedtime options are always nice, and the baby might like this too if I iced it.

It was also pretty cheap too. I think maybe $4 for 50g? I think that’s good.

LOL I know, they’re terrible reviews! Yet I keep drinking the tea. I’m almost out of my 100g now, but I think I’ll save my tiny tea budget for something else this time. I can always go back to Granville Island!

TeaLady441

That totally makes sense! I think most of my tea budget is going to Bayswater. And I won’t even bother with O5, but if we go in, I’ll politely look.

OMGsrsly

I want to sniff stuff if we go into O5, but their prices are a little ridiculous. $9 for 40g of hibiscus? That better be some special hibiscus!
