Okay – Steepsters … I LOVE almond cookies. I always buy any almond cookie tea I can get my hands on. Usually they are in the form of a tisane, which is okay and all but come on I WANT TEA … well – this is IT!
This is THE tea!
I think I could safely say if I could have only ONE tea (which honestly would be a nightmare) but still … this would be it!
First its SENCHA and a good sencha at that. I can taste the tea in this blend!
Its buttery which offers the best backdrop for this flavor!
OMG THANK YOU Georgia Tea Company!

Holy Almond Cookie! Almond Cookies from Georgia Tea Company has really made me fall in love! Georgia Tea Company – be put on notice, I will be making an order with you again soon!

I can taste the almond, obviously, the green tea gives a wonderful flavor and a healthy base, and yet I swear I can taste the crispy crumbly cookie in here too! You know how good almond cookies have that buttery, crispy, crumbly texture? That is this tea! And if I had to describe this tea any other way I would go with vanilla cake batter.

This sounds really good. I recently added this one to my shopping list, it looks like it has almonds in it too. http://steepster.com/teas/not-just-tea/35476-butter-cookie

Azzrian

I would eat all the almonds out of it :)

Rob Rauschenberg

haha. There are times when I just want to eat things out of the tea jar but I restrain myself. Especially little white chocolate pieces. ha.

Azzrian

LOL I eat them :)

Husband was sweet enough to watch Upstream Color last night with me ‘cause I watched it the night before alone and loved it so much I wanted someone to talk to about it with, ha—and this was after dragging him to the second Hunger Games movie earlier the same day!! Anyway, we drank a pot of this on the couch during it. He loved it, had the good ol’ involuntary “Mmmmm!” commercial-type reaction to the first sip, haha. The coconut gives it a creamy mouthfeel similar to the many beloved coconut oolongs I’ve collected, and there’s a definite amaretto-y almond extract-y flavor as well. Nice without being too complicated, and resteeps like a champ. I must say, my foray into sampling Georgia Tea Company’s many flavored blends has been pleasant so far and I’m really wowed by how huge the samples are and how promptly my package arrived. I love when sales/promotions make trying someone completely out of nowhere feasible and it works out well.

I’ve had such a great holiday week—tons of quality time with the husband, finally got around to trying a bunch of the new spots that have popped up around town pleased to discover they’re all great, watched movies both obscure and zeitgeist-y (I enjoy when we can, makes me feel “like a real person”, hard to explain but I love those rare moments when I feel “normal” and connected to pop culture in a good way), slept in, cuddled, ate delicious food both in and out (the winner this year was waffles made out of leftover stuffing, coated in leftover gravy…YUM!) including swapping holiday plates with the upstairs neighbors (they’ve got a pro baker friend so they gave us some of her three-tiered cookie crust banana pudding cake and I tell you, my eyes rolled back and I did not want to share!), met that cat’s owner finally (she leaves for Ohio with her Sunday morning), all that good stuff. That said, I can’t wait to get back to my regularly scheduled programming/life after Monday for a bit, so I can log teas and chat on Steepster like usual. I’ve tried a bunch of teas this weekend but haven’t had time to log them, and it’s kind of ehhh timing considering many are from the awesome swap Dexter3657 kindly initiated a couple weeks ago. Can’t wait. Until then, just want to say I miss you guys!

This is a new tea for me (although I’ve had it on the shelf for 4-5 months). For some reason, this afternoon I felt like a flavored green. The aroma is fantastic and the taste was exactly what I was seeking – strong and solid but not too overpowering. Delicious with out sugar and good for two flavorful steeps.

When I opened the bag I was immediately hooked, this tea smells just like an almond cookie. The almond comes through immediately as does the sencha, but the sencha remains in the background where it should be in this blend. The coconut rasps brings a nice sweetness to the mix giving it a creamy sort of flavor.

The second steep lost some of the almond scent, but it wasn’t any less delecious. I did try my second steep sweetened, but it really didn’t need it.

I have several almond cookie teas all of which are black, this one made me realize what was missing the entire time with those others. The base should have been green, it just works so much better and doesn’t compete with the almond flavor. With a green base the almond really gets a chance to shine.

first off….the smell of the tea in the bag is just like an almond cookie!! Could just sit and smell the open bag. Once brewed it has a cloudy green color on the first steeping. Wonderful cuppa just on its own and with a little milk/sweetener brings out the flavor of the almond cookie more. Not at all bitter or grassy. I’m not a big fan of green teas for the grassy flavor so I really enjoy this tea. Did 3 steeps and the green color turned clear but remained a wonderful flavor! One of my favorite teas (right now anyway)

This sample came from albertocanfly (I think). I’m not sure about the choice of a green tea base for this one, but I’m always up for trying anything almond or cookie-flavored. Dry, it’s a mixture of somewhat broken dark green leaves and pieces of what looks like almond? It smells quite sweet and reminds me of frosting!

Steeped, it still smells sort of vaguely sweet and dessert-ish, and it still makes me think of buttercream frosting. I can smell a bit of grassiness from the base tea. Honestly, it kind of tastes just like it smells. It’s sort of vaguely sweet and buttery with a vanilla note and perhaps a touch of almond. I don’t think it melds very well with the green base, which is definitely not high quality and mostly tastes grassy and like dried leaves. It also has a strange, almost waxy texture that I don’t love. Not for me!

Thank you Albertocanfly! This is one of the yummiest cookie blends! I love the almond and vanilla aroma. It is just soooo relaxing. This is one I really wish I had in my cupboard rather than just a sample. The green tea is mild so it tastes almost like a herbal, to me. But that is not a bad thing.

Heard that this one tastes a lot like their other tea Snowflake which I’m MADLY in love with. xD But this one is a lot softer. Not nearly as good as Snowflake though.
This one is creamy and light.
Lots of almond and vanilla flavor. Which is pretty good, but not as good as the other tea I’ve had from them.
I almost actually bought this one, but I’m so glad I didn’t and just got Snowflake instead. But it’s pretty good still. Just not something I’d purchase.
Thank you, Albertocanfly for this sample!! ^^

Oo I’ll try that with the rest of the tea, thanks for the tip! And thanks again! Excited to try the others too!

albertocanfly

Sipdown!

Drank the last of my sample, still just tasted like slightly sweet green tea with a hint of almond, zero cookie.
Possibly due to age.

Didn’t notice this last time but the wet leaves look like some sort of weird salad, haha.

Goodbye, mediocriTea!
