From Genuine Tea

Milk Oolong comes from the Jin Xuan cultivar grown in Taiwan. It has a beautiful floral aroma with a smooth, milky taste.

Legend has it, the moon saw a comet flying through the night sky. The moon quickly fell in love with the beauty and elegance of the comet however, the comet met upon a cruel fate as it entered the earth’s atmosphere. The moon became very upset and in her sadness she blew a cool wind through the mountains over the tea fields. When a tea farmer awoke the next day he found that the cool wind had created a sweet milky flavour in his tea leaves – the ‘Jin Xuan’ Oolong, aka Milk Oolong was born.

This tea is consistently a favourite among tea enthusiasts however, there are many imitations out there that are often mixed with artificial flavourings.

Sipping on some Milk Oolong and appreciating the newly flowered tulips in the park nearest my house; it’s really getting to be full on outdoor tea season again and I am SUPER excited about it!! This oolong is also a warm and cozy hug in a cup; super buttery and silky with fresh, clean floral undertones that remind me of curling up in a big, fluffy blanket fresh out of the dryer!! Great for a grey, drizzly afternoon – but hey, at least more rain means happier flowers for future sessions!!
