From ESGREEN

Shape: Loose Tea Knot
Type: Shu Cha Ripe/Cooked
Vintage Year: 2008
The Region of Harvest: Yunnan Province, China
Plant Type: Yunnan Big Leaf Bush
Tea Factory: Meng Hai Tea Factory

This Lao Cha Tou(Aged Loose Tea Knot) produced and stored since year 2008 by Meng Hai tea factory. But it was made from aged raw material over 10 years.

Each tea knot was in bright brown colour that naturally compressed during the loose leaves piling process.

Cha Tou has a very low volume of production, around 2% of the total loose leaf tea. The tea factories pick them out of the mass production raw materials and store them separately. Therefore, it is rare and special.

The tea soup has a rich amber colour that quickly shifts to a darker shade of red. Smooth and thick.

The infusion has a strong Shu(cooked) Cha flavor, a little bit sour taste and dry, sweet aftertaste under throat.

Not every Pu-erh fan likes the strong Shu(cooked) flavor of LAo Cha Tou. But if you like Pu-erh Shu Cha and want to try something special, this is definitely your best choice.

200g/pack. Tin Caddy Packing.

We strongly recommend to wash and risen this tea for at least 3 times before drinking. Don’t worry, Lao Cha Tou is durable and could be steeped for over 10 times.

This was a nice puerh to me, very dark and earthy yet smooth and clean tasting, sometimes earthy can mean “dirt” tasting which is not always bad this one has a rich earthiness that is very clean and pleasant, This is very enjoyable for people who enjoy a puerh/dark tea Those who don’t care for Dark teas may not be able to enjoy this one. Also it gets slightly sweeter with each steep.
