Ceylon Tea with Peach

(I want to apologize for my absence. My password seemed to have changed and when I asked for a re set it didn’t work. Long 2 month story short, error with Steepster, password regenerator not working, my account locked. But today I tried my luck and it worked.)

I have been drinking a lot of tea recently as I am on a new diet and I need to fill up on something as the food as thin as air that Diet Chef makes does not fill me.

This has a very pleasant aroma and reminds me of a peach pie…but that may be my hunger talking.
Looks wise this is dark in colour and looks similar to a black coffee.

This is nice, light and airy with a notable taste of Ceylon and slightly sour peach behind it. As with all of the Dilmah tea’s that I have encountered, this one contains artificial flavours (which is a shame) but I believe you can taste the difference. Still a nice tea but I have had better Peach tea (Bigelow being much nicer).

An average Ceylon with a hint of peach is more like it. But still a nice drink to have when you want something light and fruity.

I drank this with a splash of vanilla soy milk. The black tea is fairly plain, a bit tannic, but the peach flavouring is decent. It is quite flavourful. I got this teabag for free from a breakfast buffet, so I’m not complaining. I knew a bagged flavoured ceylon wouldn’t be amazing. xD It makes for an interesting cup and now I can say I’ve tried it.

A sample from KittyLovesTea. I’m naturally suspicious of peach tea. I’ve tried a few, and almost all of them have been unbearably fake-tasting. The kind of peach a kid’s lipgloss might be flavoured with. The smell of this one dry concerns me. It’s exactly the kind of over sweet, cloying, thick artificial peach that I dislike most. I’ve never had a real peach that tasted anything remotely like this (and other peach teas) smell.

As ever, though, I’m up for giving it a chance. Brewed, it’s not actually so bad. There is quite a thick, artificial peach taste, but the base tea is nice and smooth, and it peeks through in just the right places. I actually added milk to this, based on how dark it brewed up after only a couple of minutes, and I think that’s helped to give it a creaminess that it maybe wouldn’t have had otherwise. The suggestion on the sachet this bag came in was to ice it, and I think it might be very refreshing like that. Unfortunately, this doesn’t have quite the natural, fresh peach taste I was really hoping for, so it’s probably not one I’d seek out again. It’s just a little too far on the wrong side of cloying for my tastes. My search for the perfect peach tea continues.
