oh steepster I miss you so much! I used to be able to think about tea and read about tea and see what my tea friends were drinking all day while i was at work, but now, for some reason, the steepster website won’t load on my work computer anymore! I change browsers and I try different settings but nothing seems to fix it :(

I drank this tea when I went to go see Thor alone at 10am on a Sunday morning. I know the Asguardians are aliens and all, but they also have kings and queens (plus this isn’t a tea I’ve tasted before and wanted to try the sample.) queen tea! fit for a Thor!
(I’ll re-sample this tea and write about the flavor later.)

I don’t quite remember the tea. I think I was too distracted by the abs.
You heard me.

Shmiracles

see and I am HORRIBLE at posting from my phone cuz my sentence structure and spelling and just all of it end up making even less sense than usual!

Sil

haha it’s fine :) glad you had fun at the movies!

Dinosara

I had that problem too! I had to set up a dummy DNS address in my network settings… The one I used was 8.8.8.8 and it magically worked!

TeaKlutz

Not gonna lie, those were some pretty tasty abs.

OMGsrsly

LOL @ the abs. I saw Thor with my brother and one of his old friends. Their expressions during the Ab Scene were hilarious.

Shmiracles

Dinosara! i finally figured out the DNS fix. thanks so much for the nudge! lookout steepsters i’m back in business !

Della Terra has a black unflavoured blend? Ok – I’d better snap it up and give it a shot!

And I like it. It’s very English Breakfast-y, with a bit of a sharp note at the end of each sip that is trying to snap me awake. It’s not working, but it’s not the tea’s fault as I barely had any sleep at all last night. I don’t expect miracles.

But I haven’t had an unflavoured tea in too long. This was nice. It’s more complex than I had anticipated and I bet it would be lovely with milk and sugar too.

Sipdown #36 Was Organic Golden Assam, from Tao Tea Leaf. I couldn’t find the page for it & I’m getting ready to become extremely busy for the rest of the day, helping a student restring her harp, so I’m just logging it here. A lovely cup I enjoyed whilst cooking my Brekkie.

Sipdown #37 Was Della Terra’s Queen’s Breakfast. A bolder cup the I enjoyed with Brekkie. Interestingly, it has a ‘cream’ like flavor to it, & is otherwise bold. As it cooled down it got a little metallic around the edges & slightly bitter.

Both teas are from Sil, thanks!

I was curious about this one… an unflavoured from the great DT… how novel!
Only it is not quite what I expected. It’s certainly a black tea, but my buds tell me its flavoured somehow. I mean, it kinda reminds me of Queen Catherine in a way, but more like THE Queen is the real deal whereas they came up with the Queen’s Breakfast through synthetic processes.
Yup. There’s a distinct note of some nondescript additive that really doesn’t point a finger at anything. Maybe I need to find the sweet spot.
Still a drinkable cup though.

thanks for sharing this one with me Cavocorax I wasn’t expecting much from an unflavoured tea from Della Terra, but it does prove they CAN make tea with no sprinkles :P This isn’t too bad. It’s a good cup for the morning with a medium brew and a slight bit of astringency but nothing to over the top. A decent enough cup :)

Tea of the morning. It’s after nine o’clock, and I’m just sitting down to my first cup of tea. I usually have my first cup three hours earlier, so I am yawning and desperately grabbing for tea at the same time. Such is life.

I chose this tea because I wanted a milk and sugar tea. It definitely fits the bill, but I do wish it were a bit more robust. Still, it’s not bad. It’s basically your run-of-the-mill EB. It is doing a fine job of helping me wake up so I can get going on my to-do list.

So to get this out of my system… I miss Steepster working! /whines/

….Alright. Now that that’s out of my system, onto the tea. XD

I’m trying to get through some of the teas in my cupboard since I have so many and I’ve banned myself from ordering anything new until I’ve at least gotten down to one bin of untried from companies (I have two currently) and a half bin of ‘from swaps’ (Have a full bin of this). So this was a surprise addition from Cavo when we swapped last and figured I’d better at least try it soon. Lol.
The dry was kinda fruity, which was nice.. Used a tsp and a half for 12oz and only steeped it for 2:30min since I’d read that this can be a bit punchy at times.
It’s not a bad tea actually. I was expecting sharp or peppery or something. But this is kinda sweet, a bit woody and kinda malty. And not ‘in-my-face’ like I was worried it would be. No bitterness and I don’t get much astringency. Hardly any at all, but there’s just the teeeenyist bit of it there.
It actually made this close to a half hour ago and it’s been sitting on a cup warmer for that time while I sip. It’s survived well, though from time to time I’m getting an almost chalky taste/sensation from the tea. Now I don’t know if that’s from it sitting here for so long or what. But I figured I’d mention it.
So nice to try, but since I have other teas I like alot better I’m not planning on keeping this one.

From Pass the Stash TTB 2:

This is the first tea I picked to try from the box, and I quite like it! I don’t know how to describe it really, it’s not a wimpy black, it’s not a malty black, but it is pretty multi layered and very satisfying as a first tea of the day today.

My friend gave me a sample of this to try, so this morning I debated between this and LB. Uhmmmmm that was dumb. I made a poor decision. I can’t believe I’m able to be responsible for a tiny innocent helpless young human yet I chose to drink THIS when I could have made LB instead.

The other day when I drank DTT’s Cafe Vanilla I pondered out loud (in type, online, to you) about possibly not being a fan of whatever black base they use, because I feel like I can taste it in every one of their blends and it has a weird note.

Welp, this morning, with this cup, I was able to test that theory.

The end result of this experiment is that I’m not a fan.
There’s a weird background taste to this that seems unnatural somehow.

I wouldn’t have paid money for an unflavored DTT in the first place (just…WHY?!), and this cup only reinforces that sentiment.

Blehhhhhh. Should’ve had the LB.
Must always choose LB. SILLY GIRL.

Sil

I have come to learn that I only like DTT’s lime and lemon chiffon, orange and cream rooibos blends, and even those I can live without if need be

ohfancythat

Yeah, my interest is waning, apparently. Ah well, on to greener pastures

TeaLady441

I find I binge on their teas around Black Friday because of a) great deals, and b) Fall/Winter means I want dessert teas. All the candy teas! And then I calm down and go back to drinking regular teas after binging on flavoureds for so long.

ohfancythat

Makes sense! There are a few I’d like to try in the fall, one being that green almond one that everyone seems to love
