Aaaaah!!! I got swept up in the Black Friday excitement and didn’t check before I purchased 2 oz of this. Turns out I’d already tried this after a sample was given to me by Dexter3657 a while back. Even wrote a note. Forgot all about it. Based on the note and rating at the time maybe I shouldn’t have gotten 2 oz.

Oh well. It’s fine. Whipping cream and Jameson fixes everything. The tea is alright. Lots of stuff through the leaf: marshmallows, sprinkles, what have you. It brews quite light (and murky) although I used more than enough leaf. I think if my expectations weren’t so high it would have been a good relationship. It’s just not as full of “wow” as I dreamt it would be. I just don’t hear the philharmonica when we kiss. But after running errands on this snowy Saturday it is quite nice to return home and snuggle with a mug of this, an electric fireplace and whatever streaming video my heart desires.

You put Jameson’s in this? I know booze fixes everything, but part of me thinks you shouldn’t be wasting good Jameson’s in tea…
Oh well hope you are having a good evening in front of the fireplace. :))

Nxtdoor

Mmmm yeah. Jameson. I only used a little. Wanna move here till they fix your door? There’s a place I know here that will be empty…

Dexter

Thanks, but I don’t think it would be much fun if it were empty…

This is so marshmallow-y! I might even say more so than S’mores!

I have been having serious anxiety lately, and when I got home today I wanted something warm and sweet and comforting, so I thought I would give this one a shot. It is not letting me down. It’s very sweet, but delicious.

Had for afternoon tea with R. My non-Steepster bestie tea buddy sent me a lovely tin of this along with other DT favorites as a surprise holiday gift, hooray.

This does a good job of being exactly as described, gooey, sticky caramel and marshmallow, not just straight up sugar but true marshmallow scent and flavor. It’s cute too, full of cute silver balls and sprinkles and caramel. When you want a sweet treat, this could hit the spot.

I can’t wait to try this—got my order in yesterday! do you know if this is only available seasonably? And I think you and cavo drank this simultaneously! LOL

ifjuly

I was under the impression they had made it year-round, but I’m not sure because it was out of stock most of the times I looked for it earlier this year. Sorry I don’t have an official answer!

All your Hot Cinnamon Spice logs make me want to break open my sample soon! Stay warm. (:

keychange

You’ll love cinnamon spice, I hope! And if you find you love your sample, I’d be happy to send you more!

ifjuly

keychange, that is so super nice of you to offer! thank you. (:

After my first experience with this tea was not pleasant I decided to try again.

I steeped a single cup, metal infuser, clean white teacup. The tea was PLEASANT and sweet. I didn’t really get any specific note other then sweet. I will say that the tea is somewhat unattractive to look at in the cup the pretty candies melt and look somewhat….oily. It DOES sparkle but also the blogs of oil are somewhat off putting.

I sampled this tea as part of the “Considering a new Traveling Tea Box” tea box.

Cuppa the afternoon…..

One of the teas from my Mystery Box from Della Terra.

Can I tell you how happy I was to see this one in my box? Sooooo excited. I love caramel, I love marshmallow, I love black tea. What else is there to say? The reviews on this one have been coming in very steadily as a favorite among my favorite Steepsterites, so of course I really wanted to try this one.

The caramel and marshmallow flavors do not disappoint. The tea base just hangs in the background with just enough of a presence to remind you it is black tea you are drinking. This is the perfect afternoon pick me up and treat all rolled into one. It definitely helps with a sweet craving and I will definitely buy more once this is gone.

Usual mug method with just a little heaping on the spoon.

I had a lot of fun at our work Christmas party today, loaded up on great food and great wine, we exchanged gifts (I can’t believe my boss gave me a wine glass that holds…wait for it…an entire bottle! omg!), and had great conversation.

I took a much needed nap when I got home, and then decided to open and try this tea. It wasn’t the tea i was most excited about, but given the season, it seemed appropriately festive. I tore the seal, and even before unsealing the zip, I could smell the sweet, coffee cake aroma of the tea. Coffee cake? Indeed, that’s the smell I got. Or if not coffee cake, then a rich, dark sort of chocolate or bitter coco or…something like that.

I set to work, brewed this up a bit strong, and settled down to drink it. I don’t know if it was really the best choice of tea, given that I’m relatively lactose intolerant and had a lactose-heavy lunch, because this tea screams milky and dense. It tasted good, but not quite like what I had expected. If I hadn’t known this was marshmallow tea, i wouldn’t have really guessed it. And I still couldn’t shake the coffee cake associations. I am happy to report, however, that I could certainly smell and taste the base black tea, and that always makes me happy: I love it when companies don’t cover up a bad base tea with a ton of flavour. Nope, let her shine right through, I say!
Anyway, this is a nice, sweet cup of tea. I can’t honestly say I feel passionately about its awesomeness the way so many steepsterites do, but I also don’t think I’ll struggle to finish the package I got. And hey, if I can’t, I know people will clamber to take it off my hands.

ETA: TMI alert.

Omg! I just threw up! and…tasted this tea again. Eww eww eww.
Who wants the rest of my package of this? I’m serious.

tigress_al

Oh no. I hope you feel better soon!

ifjuly

ack, i hope you feel better! also, a wine glass that holds an entire bottle of wine sounds insane. someday maybe you can snap a pic so i can giggle at it…

keychange

Isn’t it wonderful? LOL I should get a pic.
And please someone, take the rest of this tea from me!

TheTeaFairy

OMG, hope you feel better by now…I understand why you want to get rid of it, having a tea reminiscent of puke, NOT a good thing!!!!

Ana

So I got this tea a million years ago in a trade with ChuckieRoy so thanks!

This tea is really pretty with all the little extra things in it and it has real marshmallows which I’m really not supposed to eat because I’m a vegetarian but I’m making an exception for this tea. Slippery slope that is, but I think it’s okay. Not like I’m going out and gorging on bacon just this once or anything. It smells pretty fantastic too, clearly marshmallow. I did a survey of the other tasting notes for a steeping time for this because 2-5 minutes is really broad and came to the conclusion that most people did 4 minutes or so because at that point the marshmallows would be completely melted. I hope it wasn’t too long.

Nope not too long. Absolutely delicious. I’m with the consensus of the majority, this is a very very nice tea. Wonderful dessert tea. Nice marshmallow, the caramel is kind of subdued but that’s okay. Base is a nice supporting actor but not adding anything in particular. Yum.

Thanks to MissB for a sample of this one. I had wanted to try this because it is rather beloved here among many.

So I pretty much knew this would be sugary as soon as I saw the little marshmallows floating on the surface and then dissolving during steeping. Yup, certianly sugary, and way more sugary than I usually take my tea. It’s sweet, and that’s what I taste. I have to say I don’t really get caramel in particular. I do wish they had gone for marshmallow by using marshmallow root instead of actual marshmallow, but so it goes. This isn’t really a tea for me. :) But I’m glad I got to try it out finally.
