i like this one less and less each time I drink it. :(

I’ve finally more or less got a routine started at work where I bring my 16 oz thermos filled with prepared tea and let it cool to drinking temperature (because I’m too busy to sit down most days) for a few hours. Last night I sat down to this, and…ugh. Smelled great, even tasted caramelly and marshmallowy, but it was just so thin and watery that I couldn’t enjoy it.

I’d like to give it away to a good home if anyone’s interested…

That’s my exact response to this tea. Smelled great, had the right caramel/marshmallow flavours, but was WAY too thin for me.

Ok, Steepster is being really weird so hopefully this works this time.

So I had high expectations for this tea. Caramel flavor, marshmallows, stars, edible ball bearings, those are all things I really like.

At first I was feeling kind of meh about it, it wasn’t really remarkable. And it is a bit of a gross surface tea, but there’s plenty of sugary goodness in here for that to happen.

Once it cooled down a bit, I really enjoyed it. It is mostly marshmallowy, I was hoping for a more creme brûlée taste but the caramel isn’t as strong as the marshmallow. But it is soooo good. Very sweet!

I had hoped to get 2 oz of it, but it was sold out already so I ended up with the last 1 oz. Glad I didn’t have to get 4, I don’t think I like it THAT much.

this tea sounds yummy! I tryed to like it but steepster wont let me :( …

Have you tried Smores? If so, how does it compare to that one?

On the Eighth Day of Christmas, Della Terra Teas sent me this tea!

Oh yum. YUM YUM YUM! I love this tea. It is so good. Yes … vegans, I’m sorry, but these are real marshmallows and not vegan ones. But, trust me when I say that this tea is WORTH going off the vegan diet for one cuppa. But, be warned that one cuppa may soon turn into two, and two into three … This tea is that good.

I think I like this even better than the Dubbele Chocolade. Yes, this is DTerra’s BEST tea. YUM!

OH… here’s my full-length review: http://sororiteasisters.com/2012/12/21/on-the-eighth-day-of-christmas-della-terra-teas-sent-to-me/

This is my favorite Della Terra Tea as well. Trying to convince them to keep it year round :)

Kittenna

Sweet! I should have some on its way here… hopefully….

Well, it looks like I’m just going to be a dissenter on this tea. I had it in my travel mug yesterday, and while it was ok, there was something off that I didn’t enjoy. It’s light on flavour, to begin with, and I can definitely taste marshmallow, but that’s about it. I’m wondering if I’m wanting a stronger black base here to kind of offset the marshmallow/caramel sweetness, because usually I like a sweet black.

I think I have enough left for a cup or two… perhaps Raritea or Indigobloom would be interesting in sampling it (if I remember to bring it along this weekend), because I really have no desire to finish it off.

Hopefully I remember it!

Count me in! I’ve been readings lot of good things!! That is if there is enough to share :)

I am officially on break! I took my final yesterday and did better than I thought. By my calculations I am less than 2 points away from an A. I’m hoping once they grade the parts of the test that we had to handwrite in that it will bump my grade up. If not, I will have to be happy with a B-but-almost-an-A, which I think I can handle.

This was the tea of the day from our homemade 12+ days of tea box. I’ve seriously been wanting to try this one for forever, but I think every time that I’ve placed Della Terra orders it has been sold out. Well, no surprise after tasting it! This is a cup of marshmallow sweetness with a touch of burnt caramel. This satisfies every sweet craving I have ever had, and even some I didn’t know that I had. The fiancee thinks this tea smells a little like cotton candy in the bag, and I agree. It has that sugary sweetness to it. This is one tea that might actually taste even better once it’s steeped than it does in dry form! Glad I’m starting the day off with this delicious tea. :)

-Dry blend has medium black tea leaves and twigs with cubes of caramel, small gold balls, small marshmallows and blue and white star sprinkles.
-Dry leaves smell sweetly of caramel and sugary cotton candy. Tea liquor aroma is of marshmallows and caramel.
-Tea liquor is a cloudy medium orange brown color.
-Creamy caramel flavor and finish. Light burnt caramel and sugary marshmallow aftertaste.
-Best with milk and sweetener.
-Excellent tea. Fluffy and sweet marshmallow flavor with a hint of burnt caramel.

Thanks so much to Azzrian for sharing this tea with me !

This is my first Della Terras tea and I was very excited to taste it especially because I fell in love with the name of the tea.
… but unfortunately not with the tea itself.

The blend is so beautiful with a lot of multicolored little candies (stars of David and little golden balls).

I found the tea base too light for my taste. The aromas of marshmallows was overpowering to me as well (but after all it is supposed to be a marshmallow tea ! – but I was expecting something with a much more pronounced caramel flavour).

I think this tea delivers its promises to be a marshmallow tea – I have enough blend to do a second big mug of Eight Candles tea and sure I will give it another try.

Try steeping just a bit less time and see if that helps perhaps :)

Got a bit of this at my meet up swap with Alphakitty and it is yummy! Most convincing marshmallow confection taste to date! Sure, all those teas with marshmallow root taste like marshmallow too, but this one actually tastes fluffy and sticky too. Amazed! And the sweet caramel. Mmm. Tasty! Would be a nice latte but I just had mine plain today. :) also enjoying this base as it doesn’t compete with the flavors. Ideally, the base works with the flavors but this is fine as it is. I think a nice chocolaty yunnan would be amazing with the flavors in this tea.

EDIT: forgot to mention how pretty the dry tea is! Glittery gold balls, blue and white Stars of David, puffy marshmallow balls. So cute! Is this tea kosher? Just curious.

TeaLady441

Now I remember why I wanted to try this one! :O

Mercuryhime

Try it! Second steep still had plenty of flavor. :)

Alphakitty

Della Terra does marshmallow teas so well!

Mercuryhime

Agreed, Alphakitty! I noticed that it made quite an oily mess of my cup and infuser though. might use a paper filter next time.

Alphakitty

Yeah, having sprinkles and marshmallows in a blend can make them kind of oily/filmy which is icky to look at, a fine paper filter usually takes care of it. I find the same thing happens with a lot of DAVIDsTEA blends as well.

Sipdown! Finished off the last couple of cups at work today. I wasn’t feeling great yesterday, so I took it easy on my stomach with a boring, bagged tea day. I think that helped me appreciate this all the more today, though. The caramel and the marshmallow make this a wonderful sweet treat, and the taste is equally of both. I’m not so keen on the surface oiliness, but it’s easy enough to ignore. The gold flakes left by the sprinkles add a pretty touch — and this really is a pretty tea, both dry and brewed. It’s not style over substance, though, because the taste is great. One of my favourite caramel teas, and one I’d definitely seek out again next Christmas.

Before all the hype about this tea, I just wanted it because it was a Chanukah tea. It could have been a totally unappealing flavor, and I would have still wanted it because it’s a Chanukah tea. It really doesn’t take much to market to me, eh? But then this tea was getting all rave reviews so I knew I HAD to try it. They sold out of this tea pretty quickly during Black Friday, but lucky the lovely Jackie T was able to send me some so I could see firsthand what this tea was about.

This tea is very nice, and I’m not the biggest fan of black teas. You can taste the marshmallow in there, definitely. I’m not sure if I like it hot or cool better- both are really good. Plus, it looks so sparkly and shimmery. I don’t know if it’s an every day tea for me, but it’s definitely a good desert tea.

Hopefully this tea will inspire other tea makers to come up with other Chanukah teas. I’m lovin’ all the Chanukah love.

Teas with visual appeal suck me in…it was the sparkles in this that got me :p

Just like that smores tea from Teaopia. Only not nearly as good. Super astringent with some marshmallow sweetness. Almost overbearingly sugary.

TheKesser

I’ve been wondering about this one! I LOVE the s’mores from Teaopia. I bought a huge bag before it was discontinued, but I’m worried that once it’s gone, that I won’t find anything even close to it…

Indigobloom

I think I may have overleafed the cup. This was a sample, but if it ever comes into stock again, I’d recommend trying it! :)

tattooed_tea

I didn’t like the s’mores from Teaopia, but I love this one.

Indigobloom

Interesting! I wonder if it’s a love one and hate the other deal heh

Kittenna

This one, however, was possibly from me? I think I split my sample between you and Raritea. Also, I feel like it’s difficult to overleaf Della Terra teas. I usually go with 2tsp/cup anyways because they tend to be light on flavour. I just thought this one was a lot of sweet stuff and no good solid base beneath, so it was more or less sweetish icky water, haha.

Indigobloom

ha! yep that sounds about right. Sweet icky water.
I’d been wanting to try this for a while, thanks for sharing your sample!! (I didn’t give you credit cuz it wasn’t the best review!)

Kittenna

LOL! I’m not particularly worried about credit… :P
