Honey & Spice

This was a nice mix of sweet and cinnamon. The cinnamon wasn’t too over powering and the sweet blended well with the rooibos. I am beginning to not enjoy teas with cinnamon in them, but this was subtle enough that it really worked. I enjoyed this one!

Dry, this tea is almost overly sweet…but it steeps up to a rich reddish tea that has a gentle vanilla and clove scent to it. I did sweeten it with honey since I read on another note that it was a little lacking in that aspect, so I was hoping that addition would help out some.

Sadly, the resultant tea was just weak and woody tasting. I didn’t pick up all that much spice, very little honey…it just came across as bland and rooibos-y. I’m thinking there might be something wrong with either my tastebuds or how I steeped it, so I’m going to try and re-steep in the morning…maybe it’ll do better next time.

First tea from the box so far thats halfway decent. It’s definitely heavier on the spice than on the honey, and thats fine by me as strongly flavored honey teas have not been my cuppa in the past. The rooibos is definitely tamed by the spices, so I think that even those who dislike rooibos might like this tea.

As far as the bigger picture of tea preferences goes, this is not a stellar cup of tea. Just an average drinkable cup of tea, winning only brownie points here relative to the first nasty teas that I sampled last night. lol.

My husband, on the other hand, loves it so I’m keeping what’s left from the box for him (just a few more servings).

ETA: There is a very slight aftertaste that I could do without, but not too bad.

I’ve been enjoying several cups of this courtesy of my sis, and it may have won me over to rooibos teas. Or at least flavored rooibos teas.

The smell of this tea is absolutely amazing… spiced like the scent of a cozy, little cottage. tehehe..silly description, but that’s what it is! :] The flavor is a bit more spice than it is honey, but it is delicious nonetheless. It’s a little bit on the lighter side as far as flavor goes, but the aftertaste is stronger. Generally the aftertaste of teas can fall a little flat for me, but this one has the spice and the honey intermingling in a lovely manner. This tea has transitioned me from a hectic day of people to comfy and cozy cuddling up to a nice book. :]
