From Della Terra Teas

If you love white tea and white chocolate you MUST have this tea! It combines the naturally sweet, slightly malty flavor of a fine white tea mixed with the ivory colored, sweet, cocoa derived confectioners creation of white chocolate! We think you’ll agree that these two just go together.

Ingredients: Pai Mu Tan white tea, white chocolate flavor, white chocolate chunks.

Suggested brewing tips:

Serving Size: 1 tsp./6oz serving

Water Temp: 149-158°F

Steep Time: 1- 3 minutes

Backlog from yesterday.

This one was not great for me. I could taste the white chocolate, but the white tea was a little too strange a combo for me. I probably over steeped it but I’m not going to have the rest of my try me bag if anyone wants it. I actually have a bunch of samples I need to clear out if anyone wants some.

Tealizzy

Yeah, same thing for me, although it’s better if you only steep it for 1 minute.

Ashmanra’s sipdown challenge – April 2023 Tea #7 -Your oldest white tea

Does a flavored white tea count for the prompt?  This is quite the oldest white tea I have.  I did like it though, despite my lack of fondness for actual white chocolate.  I’m amazed, looking at the ingredients list, that it is as simple as white tea, white chocolate flavor, and white chocolate chunks.  I would definitely assume there was more to this blend than that.  Maybe some hojicha, at the very least.  So it definitely exceeded my very low expectations, and still does all of these years later (ten years!  wow!)  My original note says “best white chocolate inspired thing ever”.  Again, LOOWWW expectations there.

Tea & Cards TTB #4
Ok, so I maybe messed this one up a little by using water that was too hot (it’s hard to get things right at school). Nevertheless, it wasn’t as overly bitter because of the sweetness from the white chocolate flavors. I was nervous about this one tasting overly artificial because I saw that telltale greasiness on the top of the tea, but it was actually quite well done! I also tasted a slight frutiness maybe melon(?) that was tasty. It might be from the white tea- I just haven’t had enough straight white tea to be able to tell. In any case, I’m glad that I finally got to try a Della Terra tea! I’m definitely going to put in an order with them when I decide I can come off my tea-buying hiatus.

Thank you KittyLovesTea for yet another awesome tea sample :)

The smell for this one is a little bizarre. There’s chocolate in the scent somewhere though.

Perhaps chocolate teas just aren’t for me. This one is well done, but it’s not my favourite by any means. I’m really enjoying the white tea base but not so much the chocolate.

So, it’s been three weeks now of the flu. It started off with head cold symptoms which quickly changed into a very high fever and all that comes with it. I thought I was on the mend as it faded back into cold symptoms, however it did settle on my chest, which I have to take an inhaler for. Unfortunately it appears that this jerk of a virus isn’t done with me yet as I woke up today with major sinus issues, glass in my throat, nauseated etc… not fun at all. So I’m sick, tired, and frustrated of not feeling well for three weeks now. I called in sick to work, hubby is gone to his work and now I’m at home trying my darndest to still be productive and studying advanced accounting theory… with flu symptoms that make it ridiculously difficult to concentrate… fun fun (not).

So all this leads to the tea rating. I need a pick-me-up desperately as well as some caffeine so I don’t fall asleep atop this dreadful book, and the most comforting thing in the world for me (as I suspect is the case with many of my female friends out there) is CHOCOLATE. So I start searching through my substantial tea stash in search of the perfect chocolate tea…. one is too minty, the other too malty, the other made with mate, and so on and so forth. Then I light up with a grin as I remember the samples jessiwrites was so kind to send me! A lovely Della Terra tea will hit the spot perfectly, or so I suspect… I quickly kiss the small bag with delight, blow my snotty nose and put the kettle on.

This stuff smells delightful dry, folks. And the white tea looks darker than I’m accustomed to, but still beautiful and delicate. I resist the urge to eat the little chocolate bits and instead put them into the infuser where they belong… I let it steep for a little longer as I like my tea strong. The smell of the liquor doesn’t disappoint… however there is a little oily residue floating atop the peach-coloured liquid…. not sure how I feel about that…

This is just what the doctor ordered. Light on the tummy, absolutely scrumptious, chocolatey goodness. reminds me a lot of the white chocolate rabbits I used to get as a child at Easter. It is rich and creamy and the residue doesn’t phase me at all after all. Comfort in a cup. What a lovely surprise. Thanks so much jessiwrites. You’ve made this sick little girl feel just a little better today! :)

On the first steep in my French press, the white chocolate was truely there. On a second steep in the same French press, less chocolate and more bitter. I definitly enjoyed the first steep though, so I’m going to see what I can do to make it more resteepable. I love the scent. Its brilliant!

Oh my god, this is absolute perfection. Once brewed, it tastes even better than the dry leaf smelled, which I didn’t think would be possible! It really tastes like white chocolate, real good quality white chocolate, and it isn’t too sweet at all. The white chocolate notes are almost flirty, very uplifting, and the finish almost makes me think of mint. It’s very fresh, and ridiculously delicious.

Tea #4 from Pass the Stash box

Did I underleaf? The smell of the sample was really good, but I didn’t care for the flavor. I got a little white chocolate at the end of the sip, but really nothing during the sip. I had higher hopes for this tea. Looking at the other reviews, I wonder if I did something wrong.

I love white chocolate, and although I would much rather stuff my face with some real chocolate, the flavour is good. It is a quite simple tea, with the main flavours being white chocolate, with a hint of caramel and something that reminds me of hay, but is not quite that. Wheat maybe? It reminds me of David’s Tea’s Birthday Cake without the yucky.
