Past sipdown – I guess I never recorded this one? I bought a 100g tin of it thinking I’d be a big fan, but although I enjoyed the passionfruit flavour, there was a sort of bitterness that I found offputting. We drank it iced (3 pitchers, maybe?) but I managed to avoid most of it. I think it tasted a bit better sweetened, but I prefer not to do that. Would love to see this passionfruit flavour in a future tea, though!

Mbwinter

Would you care to do a trade? I can’t find tie dye butterfly tea and fear they’re not going to re-release this year! It’s a big favorite of mine!! I may have some oolongs that would interest you

Kittenna

Unfortunately this one I actually ended up finishing off as iced tea! A rarity in my tea cupboard, for sure. Sorry about that :( I feel like they may not re-release it as I’m not sure if it was popular, but if you are looking for more I’d suggest looking for DavidsTea swap groups on Facebook (I’m not in any so can’t recommend one) as someone may be willing to send theirs off!

#tiffanys2021sipdown Tea #51 overall / Tea #18 for February

Sunday 2/14 — Another cold-brew pitcher/2 oz silver DT bag done. I think I like Passion Punch better than this one? Maybe I just didn’t brew this one strong enough? Nothing else to say, we were sold out for the first time in a year so the weekend was a blur from work. :)

This is a fruity, but tart, herbal blend. It looks pretty with the sprinkles! I found that even though the sprinkles melted, the blend did not have any sweetness. I can taste passion fruit and generic “dried fruit” taste. I have only tried this coldbrewed. Next time I brew this, I’ll try adding a sweetener.

The butterfly sprinkles are so cute. It’s quite a tart fruit flavor? Based on the appearance, I was hoping the flavor would be more special than this. I’ve had this three times, and I liked it a little more each time. It’s hard to tell what kind of fruit it’s supposed to be – maybe orange? I wish the flavor were a little fuller or more complex, but it’s all right!

Roswell Strange

Slightly confused – are you maybe thinking of a different tea? There isn’t actually any rooibos in this tea. (It’s loosely a passionfruit flavour, if that helps with the fruit note identification though!)

AJRimmer

Oh whoops, for some reason, I remembered all the small particles in the tin as being rooibos, and they’re totally not. Thanks for putting me straight!

Roswell Strange

No worries!! I’m always hesitant to reply to DT tasting notes now, but I wasn’t sure if I was misreading/misunderstanding, heh…

This tea went against Cereal Milk by Dessert by Deb in today’s sipdown battle. Check out the tasting note for Cereal Milk here: https://steepster.com/rachel12610/posts/416589

I iced both teas because I forgot to cold brew them and this tea isn’t the best hot. I didn’t know if Cereal Milk would be any good iced but it beat this tea at its own game and moved on. This tea is the same as it has been – good, sometimes too sweet, but amazing passion fruit notes. It just is not as good as Cereal Milk.

I finished my tin of this yesterday. After I cleaned my steeper, my partner asked, “Is that a butterfly in the sink?!” He’s always surprised by the random ingredients in my teas.

VariaTEA

The butterflies in this are so cute!

Kittenna

I do like the passionfruit in this one, as did the rest of the family! Unusual and delightful!

I don’t know when the last time I had this tea was, let alone the last time that I steeped it up hot – but for some reason late last night before bed I found myself with a strong craving for it. I thought it was delicious; tangy sweet passionfruit and tropical punch sort of vibes with just enough bright acidity and sweetness. It made a little bit sad that this tea fell off my radar, truthfully…

Friendly reminder that I do not numerically rate DAVIDsTEA blends as I’m currently employed there and it would be an obvious conflict of interest. Any blends you see with numerical ratings were rated prior to my employment there. These reviews are a reflection of my personal thoughts and feelings regarding the teas, and not the company’s.
