Feels weird to review lip balm on Steepster, but we review other David’s products like teaware and chocolate, so I figured what the hell. I really like the packaging on this. The tube is oval, so wider and flatter than a standard tube and more fun to roll in your fingers and it won’t roll away. I sniffed many samples sticks they had in the store before settling on Forever Nuts. It really does smell warm and nutty like the tea. Once applied I find myself scrunching my lips closer to my nose to get another whiff… super sexy, I’m sure. When I first got the this tube it has a bitter taste too it that I found repulsive and I angrily chucked it in my suitcase feeling betrayed that something which smells so great would taste so yuck. Now that I have rediscovered it while cleaning out my suitcase months later, that bitter taste has faded. I was fully bracing myself for it, but I’m not detecting it. It might not taste bad, but it doesn’t taste good either. It tastes like mostly nothing. It does on occasion give a slight tickle in the back of my throat after licking my lips, like what I have experienced with other random lip glosses before. It does feel a little thin on the lips unless you go over them a few times and it does have a buttery feel once on. I don’t quite know how to feel on this thing. I hated it at first, but it seems to have changed with age. I’ll keep it around for a while longer and if I get sick of it I’m going to melt all the gloss out and pour my own inside because it’s really all about the packaging.

I always keep a supply of the Birthday Cake flavored balms on hand – I love them and they actually do a really good job. Last year I tried the Cherry Blossom flavor – it did not disappoint.

My favourites are the Goji Green, and the Cold 911 one that came in the Cold Survival Beauty Duo.

Birthday Cake sounds good.
I’m still not wowed, but I’m slowly warming up to this product.
