I’m sure I’ve tried this one before, but it looks like there’s no review from me on here. I grabbed a single teabag of this from the last TTB. This gets terrible reviews, but I actually like it. It doesn’t quite reach caramel or shortbread, but it does taste pleasantly desserty with some milk and sugar.

Wow – I love this tea! Now, I’ve said it before, I’m not a big fan of herbal/fruit infusions. They’re usually too tangy for me. There are a couple of exceptions and I have nothing but love for them. This is definitely one of those exceptions. I know there’s gotta be a ton of god-knows-what in there to make it taste so buttery and cookie-like. I don’t care. This is perfect for a dessert tea, something when I crave a sweet for after dinner and don’t want to consume all the calories that go into it, plus no caffeine to interfere with sleep (although my sensitivity to caffeine isn’t high). Just a dash of evaporated milk and we’re good to go. Buttery, caramel, cookie goodness with some cocoa notes. Absolutely yum.

Not a favorite, but I tried it in the SVTTB and finished the last two cups worth ( I made a pot). I didn’t get caramel or shortbread from it, It was like a cranberry twist on Forever Nuts that didn’t work.

From the TTB 2022
Not sure what I expected, its mostly sweet caramel, with a cookie aftertaste and stevia. Glad I got to sample it but wouldn’t purchase or need to drink another cup. I should have looked more closely at the ingredients for the stevia, the tisane is perfectly ok, would be better without the stevia.

DAVIDsTEA Advent Calendar 2021 – Day 19

I remember not enjoying this, so we’ll see.

Holy cow, it’s extremely sweet! I guess I shouldn’t be surprised, looks like it contains both brown sugar and stevia. Even without bring overly sweet, it’s an odd flavor combination for me. There’s a strong buttery note, but instead of reminding me of shortbread, it reminds me of buttered popcorn Jelly Bellies. Then alongside it, there’s also the tartness of the apple and cherry. And then a bit of nuttiness as well.

So it’s like super sweet buttered popcorn Jelly Belly meets fruit tisane. Very strange.

Flavors: Apple, Artificial, Butter, Candy, Cherry, Creamy, Nuts, Popcorn, Stevia, Sweet, Tart

Preparation

“super sweet buttered popcorn Jelly Belly meets fruit tisane” – That actually put an exact, perplexing flavor into my head.

#tiffanys2021sipdown Tea #89 overall / Tea #5 for March

Tuesday 3/2 found this open but full 2 oz bag last week. Tried making a hot and plain mug for myself and didn’t care for it. made the last of this for a cold brew pitcher for Micah. I like the idea of this tea and I’m sure there is more of this somewhere with my winter holiday tea bin but it gone for this bit.

This tea was a wild ride.

It smells exactly like shortbread. Hot, it tastes just like a buttered popcorn jelly belly. As it starts to cool, the tart element overrides the sweet.

I kept drinking it not because I liked it but because it was so odd. I wouldn’t repurchase, but it was an interesting experience!

Another tea I have been avoiding because of the stevia. Really strange flavor. There’s a buttered popcorn thing going on, with some tartness from the sour cherries and raspberries. The stevia is also really dominant. Blech.

As the name suggests, Caramel Shortbread has an extremely creamy, sweet flavor. Shortbread is one of my personal favorite types of cookie every holiday season, and I find with this tea that the creamy caramel flavor is much more present than the vibe of a shortbread cookie. That being said, while this tea is certainly sweet, it’s not so sweet that it’s a turn-off.

Very sweet buttery caramel and hazelnut flavor. A great before bed herbal.
