Cold Brew!
We were handing out free samples of this tea at the MTL Tea Festival and the little single serves are just so conveniently sized for iced or cold brewed teas that I swiped one of the extras at the end of the day.
If I’m being honest, my tin of this tea that I have at home is older than I’d care to admit and though I still think it tastes really nice aged there was definitely a noticable difference in how fresh tasting this cold brew was. Much more of a bright flavour with a pleasant light tartness to offset notes of ripe strawberries and black currant. Kind of jammy but not really necessarily sweet. Just a thickness to the flavour, I suppose. I really enjoyed it though – very refreshing and with dark enough berry notes and that hint of beet earthiness that make it such a good “seasonal pivot” tea for the summer to fall transition.
(Tbh it’s mostly just fall now, but every now and then we have a day that feels more summery than autumnal.)
Friendly reminder that I do not numerically rate DAVIDsTEA blends as I’m currently employed there and it would be an obvious conflict of interest. Any blends you see with numerical ratings were rated prior to my employment there. These reviews are a reflection of my personal thoughts and feelings regarding the teas, and not the company’s.
