Coldbrew review
1.5 tsp leaf, 600 mL cold water, left the teabag in for the hour it took me to finish the cup in the morning lecture. I feel like it had time to brew, but even at the end didn’t brew as strong as I hoped it would. Maybe it’s just that the blackberry is accompanied by a generic berry flavour, and those cloud the blackberry a bit.
Another one of the teas I picked up from DT this week. I bought these teas specifically so I had some nice coldbrew options. I didn’t hate this, but I was expecting more from something rated in the 80s by multiple steepsters.
It was definitely blackberry, and there was a creamy element to it, I thought the blackberry and cream could have both been stronger. Maybe this is better hot? The rooibos come through in the coldbrew quite heavily, but I wouldn’t say it was all that great. The whole thing was just a bit generic and unimpressive. I’ll try it hot and re-evaluate. One thing I did like was the honey/maple syrup quality I got from the base, and I think this will be brought out even more hot. Rooibos can do amazing things.
