TBH I saw chicory root and cardamom and expected the worst from this blend. It isn’t too bad but it’s also nothing special either. It’s nutty and spice and that’s all I’m promised but there is nothing particularly new or interesting about it.

Evol Ving Ness

Erm, my wee bag of this is around here somewhere. Lately, I’ve been expecting the worst
from DTs’ new blends, so not half bad is a win, of sorts.

VariaTEA

Haha my thoughts as well

Super Starling!

It’s a totally manic blend. I can’t figure out what all those ingredients are DOING in there. It was like they had a huge cupboard of leftover flavorings and, giggling, tried upending them all into the tee, just ’cause.

tea-sipper

Aww, but it’s supposed to be like a spicy, fruity cake. Not sure about baklava, because I haven’t had enough to know what it consists of, but the tea reminds me of fruitcake. :D

Wow, definitely fell in love with this one!! I also feel like it’s better than Bubbies was – for me at least. Maybe it’s the added ingredients. Anyway I really love this tea, and I can drink it any time of day. I love the spice and fruity notes to it. I think it’s the cinnamon I love as well. It smells lovely and tastes just as amazing. Usually I don’t like nutty things, but am LOVING this.

I think this was a nice tea, just not my particular cup if you’ll pardon the pun. It is nutty and a hint of apple. There’s almost a pastry-like flavor to it. I felt the cinnamon was a bit overpowering and out of balance. I think I might enjoy it more if it was mixed with a bit more of the plain tea. But I think it’s a good choice if you like cinnamon!

Day 7 of my advent calendar and another hit! :) It’s the perfect blend of spice and a bit of a nutty flavour. Nutty teas are my absolute favourite. Not to mention that the leaves brew from small little balls to big beautiful leaves! I definitely plan on adding this tea to my collection after Christmas!

DAVID’s Tea Advent Calendar Dy 7:

Yay!! I enjoyed this one tonight. So far this is the best tea from the calendar. The color is fairly pale amber. The flavor is subtle. I can barely keep my eyes open, so I’m cutting this short. I’ll just say I liked this one. maybe even enough to re-order.

I liked it, too! I think I am more partial to Coffee Cake and Jumpy Monkey, though!

Maddy Barone

Oh, I passed by Jumpy Monkey because it was later n the evening. Maybe I should brew up a cup of that this afternoon and see how I like it!

Day 7 of the 2016 advent calendar! I actually still have some of my Bubbie’s Baklava left, so I compared the smell between these two and they are basically identical as far as I can tell. It has a nice, warm kind of spiced fruit smell to it.

Steeped, the tea definitely smells a lot more well, ‘nutty’. The taste lives up the name pretty appropriately too, it’s very nutty with holiday spices highlighting it. With milk and sugar this actually might be my favourite of the winter collection this year (not the holiday collection though). I think this would be very good to have on a cold afternoon.

Overall, I enjoy this tea a whole lot and if it goes on sale after the holidays I will be sure to pick up some of this.

Day 7/24 of the DAVID’s Tea advent calendar.

This one is supposed to just be Bubbie’s Baklava re-branded, which is absolutely what is it. Super happy about this because Bubbie’s Baklava was always one of my favourites (particularly as a latte, which is how I had it today). I do get more of a cooked apple vibe than I remember, but I don’t know if that’s an actual change in the tea or if this particular sample just had more apple or if I’m just not remembering properly. Whatever it is, it doesn’t take away from the tea. I’ll probably pick up a substantial quantity of this before it disappears (not that I need more tea right now…).

I do find it funny that this was the third tea from the winter collection in a row from the advent calendar. Last year they were more spread out.

Michelle

The only thing different about this one is that they added pink peppercorns, and cranberry I think.

Evol Ving Ness

I didn’t detect the rose/walnut component from Bubbie’s Baklawa in this one. Or am I dreaming this up?

Fay

Michelle, that makes sense. I was looking at the peppercorns and wondering if they had been in Bubbie’s Baklava.

Evol Ving Ness, I definitely got a lot of walnut in this (though admittedly my small sample had two HUGE walnuts in it). Not so sure about the rose, though I feel all the milk for the latte would drown it out anyway.

One of my favorite teas to wake up to in the morning! I think it’s the perfect Oolong. Smells delightful, and is great in the mornings since the other flavors aren’t too overpowering (which I know I’d be sad about if I drank it later in the day). Overall, a great seasonal tea!
