From DAVIDsTEA

Your morning jam.

Breakfast in bed is the ultimate indulgence. And nothing says breakfast like a spoonful of jam. After all, this pantry staple has been such an important part of breakfast culture since the 1800s that even King Edward VII enjoyed it with his crêpes. His favourite? Raspberry. And this fruity tisane tastes just like it came straight out of the jam jar. With lemongrass, chamomile and a fresh burst of raspberries, it’s a sweet crumb-free treat you’ll want to savour all morning.

Ingredients: Organic: Apple, chamomile, lemongrass, hibiscus, raspberry. With organic and natural sweet raspberry flavouring.

Cold Brew Sipdown (132)!

Echoing Sil’s thoughts that this tea isn’t rich enough to be deserving of the name “Raspberry Jam”. It’s definitely because of the chamomile, too. I don’t even understand what that’s meant to do/add to the blend?

This is more or less chamomile tea with raspberry, rather than the other way around. Personally, I hate chamomile. It’s one of the reasons I was hesitant about this blend from the get go. It’s also maybe just a touch lemony? But it doesn’t deliver rich flavour in any way; actually, it’s really subdued overall. I think that’s because the overall ‘vibe’ DT wanted was a softer tea for Mother’s Day that could be enjoyed as a light evening/bedtime tea. The flavour with that approach makes sense, just doesn’t personally hit the mark for me. However, the flavour with that approach and the given name? Big disconnect.

No rating from me; I think I’m too biased towards the chamomile. So much bleck.

Chamomile is also cheap & light so maybe they added it as a quick filler?

Also, after reading a few reviews I no longer regret not ordering this tea, haha :) removed from the wish list!

so annoyed that i didn’t notice this tea has chamomile in it. nothing irritates me more than when i use my finum with chamomile. the little bits get stuck and it takes me forever to clean, so i usually use my other infuser. oh well. lesson learned, pay attention!

this one smells mostly of chamomile when brewed – i did shake the bag up, so my teaspoons were balanced… (and yes, apparently i was temporarily chamomile blind when i was cooping ‘cause it didn’t register lol). Raspberry is there, but on the tail end of the sip. Certainly not enough for me to call this raspberry jam! if this came straigh tout of a jam jar, i’d be sad. Jam is INTENSE flavour, full of delicious goodness…this is…more like a chamomile, raspberry tea. oh well. enough to try it one more time. Maybe the second cup will be more jam like.

I was looking at and sniffing this today and thinking. I walked away.

Summer teas are going to be out soon, next week perhaps, and rumour has it that most of them are sweet as heck.

Sil

Luscious Watermelon (Herbal)
Pom Diggity (Black) – Black tea w. Pomegranate and hibby
Pura Vida (Green) – Pineapple and coconut
Carribbean Crush (Herbal)
Mango Fruit Punch

Evol Ving Ness

Not so much tempted by any of them, but I open myself up to be surprised

Sil

i smelled them in store, nothing tickles my fancy…pura vida would but it’s a green blend, so i’d rather pick up pina colada from chicago because it’s a fruit tea.

Evol Ving Ness

Pina Colada from G tea?

I stop by when I can for steeped samples, so something might surprise me enough to pick up a wee bit, but no sense of urgency. I was under the impression that more new ones are coming out next week, or perhaps I misunderstood.

Sil

pina colada from tea gschwedner…it’s better than the tealish version, but if i wasn’t going to chicago, i’d be picking some up from tealish. i think the summer teas are coming out soon? maybe after they get through mothers days stuff..no real clue. I only ever pick up 10g or so of the new teas from david’s. When i smelled the summer teas, none really spoke to me.

Evol Ving Ness

Thanks. And yeah.

Kristal

Hmm, Glad I didn’t order this blend then. I agree, Sil, ordering 10ish grams at a time from DAVIDs is the way to go with new blends of theirs.

I went in to DAVIDs today expecting to buy a hot cup of their Lemon Pound Cake, but this one smelled so amazing I changed my mind (also swayed by the fact that it was almost 20 degrees out and this sounded better iced).

I really did like this one. Not as tart as I expected, but also not sickly sweet. I was a refreshing pick-me-up. The camomile is definitely there, but it blends with the raspberry well.

Not sure if I’d buy some, as I still have way too much tea, but it’s a great summer drink.

This tea smells lovely-very fruity. But there’s a lot of powdery and thin tiny twig looking like stuff in my bag and I’m not sure what it is because of the ingredient list, but I must have gotten the bottom of the bag when they filled their tins. I tried it hot and I did not mind it…but I can taste the chamomile and I’m not a huge fan of it. It’s drinkable though but I find that it tastes more like strawberry jam to me. I made it iced too but did not like it that way at all. Overall, this was just ok for me-I don’t think I’m gonna be buying anymore and I will be giving the rest away to family to try-my mom loves chamomile teas and raspberries so she might like it.
