Cream of the cup

Rich coconut. Creamy white chocolate. And a golden, buttery crust. Can anything top a coconut cream pie? It’s a dessert so dreamy, so fluffy, it’s like eating a deliciously retro cloud. If we had our way, we’d be snacking on coconut-filled custard 24/7. Lucky for us, this tea came along. It’s an unbelievably decadent blend of toasted coconut, white chocolate and cane sugar, all on a base of smooth-drinking oolong. The best part? It’s an all-natural blend. We’ve got pie hopes for this one…

Ingredients: Oolong tea, white chocolate (sugar, cocoa butter, milk powder, butter oil, soy lecithin, vanilla extract), coconut, toasted coconut (coconut, sugar, dextrose, salt), cane sugar, natural coconut flavouring.

Contains coconut, milk, soy.

If you let this tea steep for a long time it tastes just like its name. Love it! I’ve seen some other notes say they don’t taste the coconut very much but I disagree. With a little sugar this tea is an amazing dessert flavour. I didn’t use enough tea for my 18 oz. pot but it was still amazing.

I love oolong… I love coconut… I love white chocolate… so yeah, it was obvious that I was gonna like it. I preferred the old coconut oolong, though. I still have some so I can compare and I found that the flavour of the old one was a bit better and the 2nd steep was also good. This one is less interesting to resteep.

I very much enjoyed this. It was my first coconut tea. It wasn’t too sweet or artificial tasting. I wish the coconut would have shined through more. A very nice dessert tea.

it is really good, but not in a coconut way. it is very creamy and I added about a tsp and a half of sugar and it was pretty sweet. the after taste has a little bit of coconut but I wish it was more coconut-ey.

On a whim I got a small bag of this from DavidTea while I was stopping by to pick up other teas. It sounded so good and smelled amazing! I love coconut, I love oolong, and I love pie. What could go wrong?! I tried it the next day and regretted my purchase. I am starting to realize I may not be a fan of chocolate in my tea.

The thick oily slickness on top, and a very murky color that is very off-putting. I taste the notes of coconut and cream but barely notice the “pie” part of the tea. I poured it for a friend and he liked it just fine.

Reading the other reviews I feel I may need to give this one another shot. I will play around with the steeping to see if I get different results.

First time I had this was in the 24 Days of Tea. Steeped for a full 7 minutes and had to choke it down. Second time I had this was out of the Tea Chest. I followed directions for 4 minutes and still was not satisfied. It tasted bland and boring and again I choked it down, but it may have also been because of the metal thermos I drank out of that it was gross. Finally, at 3 minutes in a nice plain mug I like it.

It’s good though. Light, sweet, vaguely coconut, nice grounding oolong flavor.

Advent calendar day 15. I’ve wanted to try this tea for a long time since I love coconut cream pie. It smelled like coconut for sure and when I steeped it, the flavour was light. I tried way oversteeping it and the flavour was stronger and I definitely prefer it this way. I quite enjoyed this tea. Since then, I’ve picked up 50 g using my redemptions.

Day 15 of the 2016 advent calendar! I have mixed feelings on how to prepare this tea because I don’t know how into hot coconut cream pie I am, but at the same time I haven’t had good experiences with iced creamy teas. This is also a very… chunky tea in that there are quite a few large chunks of it in there. Regardless, this tea smells delicious. It’s very strong on the coconut, but it smells very light and fresh, and you can also smell a hint of creaminess to boot.

I decided to steep this one hot, and it turned out very… weak? The color is very light and the flavor isn’t much better. I’m not sure where I went wrong with this, since I did use a full perfect teaspoon and I definitely think I steeped it long enough. Regardless, what I can taste is quite nice, just like a coconut cream pie.

I won’t leave a numerical rating on this tea due to the fact that my steep turned out so weak, but I will say that I like what I taste and am willing to buy a little to see if I can’t get it right.

I find this one best as a latte; I haven’t even bothered trying it any other way.

This was the first tea i ever tasted of David’s! It was my favorite! I still drink it every week, but as I’ve expansed my tea-palate more and more I have moved away from it. But this really is a good tea if you like coconut! I usually drink it hot, but its great iced too! I do wish I could taste the white chocolate more. Its mostly a coconut tea…and thats what I call it! I always tell my boyfriend can you make me tea? and hell be like which one? and ill say…my coconut tea! I dont think of it as cream-pie tasting in any way. I would recommend though if you like coconut!
