From DAVIDsTEA

Sip back and relax

Whatever life throws our way, we can always find comfort in a great cup of tea. Especially when it’s scented with dreamy, night-blooming jasmine. Itsdelicate, floral aroma is as relaxing as it gets – like aromatherapy in a cup. First created during China’s Song Dynasty, jasmine tea has been improving moods, relieving stress and just making people happy for over 1000 years. In this oh-so soothing blend, we mix jasmine green tea with sweet blackberries and pretty cornflower blossoms. It’s the perfect little escape.

Finally had this hot (and have almost made it through all of the 24 days of tea :P ) and I have to say it it so much better! Really dominant fresh blueberry taste with a hint of jasmine. If I was really in the mood for a blueberry tea, this would probably be it. Only downside was a very slight astringency at the end, but it was barely noticeable. I’ll give it a few more points.

Flavors: Blueberry, Jasmine

Kristal

Just finished up all of the samples from the 24 days of tea. Cupboard number is finally at a half reasonable amount now :P

Fay

Hurray! I seem to buy more as soon as I get to a reasonable amount :P

Kristal

Same! My frustration is that DAVIDs always comes out with tons of limited time teas which then causes me to purchase more.

I know Steeped Tea (a company I sometimes order from) is coming out with their spring catalogue soon and I may end up buying a bit from them. One thing that frustrates me about them though is that they don’t have a full ingredients list in the catalogue, so before I order I’m going to ask my consultant what EXACTLY is in it. There have been times where I would not have ordered certain teas if I knew the ingredients.

Moment of meh…

Stopped in store today to pick up some new teaware (I caved and got the glass Bicycle Nordic mug ‘cause I don’t have a glass one yet, and I love the design) and a small sample of Banana Split and this was one of the two samples of the day. Since it’s new and I haven’t seen reviews of it yet I decided I’d try it.

It was very lackluster though; it reminded me of pretty much any other Jasmine Green that DAVIDsTEA carries with the slightest berry aftertaste which only makes it minutely more interesting. It’s definitely not a defined blackberry flavour either. And really, it’s not that it was bad tasting. It just wasn’t interesting or attention grabbing.

Since I’m not a big fan of green tea or DAVIDsTEA’s Jasmine flavouring I’m obviously not the ‘target consumer’ though, so I guess you could take my opinion with a grain of salt.

Kristal

Hm. I do love my greens + jasmine flavours so perhaps I should give this a try. Although I do dislike their artificial berry flavouring…

Dry leaf: Sweet blackberry notes are very forward, followed by a light and refreshing jasmine aroma.

Liquor: Olive green color. Smells equally floral and fruity.

Flavour: The jasmine and blackberry flavors are well balanced and compliment each other in the cup. The blackberry flavor is forward, and jasmine lingers in the aftertaste. This blend is serene and soothing.
