Rose to the occasion

Whether you want to impress a date, pamper a friend or just make someone’s day, you can’t go wrong with roses. For the ancient Egyptians, they were sacred flowers. In the middle ages, they were the preferred spa treatment of the rich and famous. And today, they’re the star ingredient in just about the prettiest, most luxurious tea ever. With big pieces of creamy vanilla, sweet golden raisins, a hint of cinnamon and an abundance of rose buds, it’s rich, sweet and lightly floral. Talk about flower power…

1.5 tsp for 300mL water @90C, steeped four minutes.

Dry leaf smells nice – cinnamon, vanilla, roses.

Steeped tea would make a good bath soap.

I’ve been looking forward to this tea all week. I LOVED the idea of Vanilla Rose. Two of my favourite flavours.

So today as soon as I got off work, I sped over to DavidsTea to get this and Spa Day. There was samples on the counter so I was like SWEEET! Oh, how glad I am that I tried Vanilla Rose before buying.

The dry tea smelled good. The hot tea tasted and smelled like cinnamon. Loads of cinnamon. I tasted a faint note of rose, but it was ALL cinnamon. What a disappointment. I expected a light lovely floral with a creamy vanilla finish :(

Flavors: Cinnamon, Rose

Dry Leaf Nose: Tea, rose and vanilla, complimented by a subtle cinnamon note.

Liquor: Golden and clear with vanilla and rose aroma.

Flavour: The sweet floral nuances of the rose petals add depth to the vanilla bean notes. Cinnamon adds sweetness.
