I had this hot as a sample in store months ago, a truly lovely cup but I never got around to buying some. THEN a couple of days ago I was handed a sample of this iced, bought an ounce that day xD I really enjoy it but there maybe a bit too much lavender… or I steeped it slightly too strong.

Against my better judgment, I gave this tea a shot. I decided to give it a try, despite the fact that it contains two ingredients that I loathe in tea (lavender and spearmint).

Hibiscus and strawberries were listed in the ingredients, so it couldn’t be terrible…right?

Wrong.

The hibiscus takes a back seat and, unfortunately, so does the strawberry. I took two sips (one hot and one iced) and was done.

The “leaf” of this one is gorgeous. I get a strawberry/apple smell from it with something that I can’t identify and can’t decide if I like it or not. It tastes more apple-y than strawberry sadly (at least this cup, I can see different scoops of different “leaf” materials changing the taste). I think I’m also getting a floral taste out of this, which is strange for me. The addition of Truvia brought out even more fruit flavor, tasty!

This is a strange one, but I like it: heavy on the lavender, light on the hibiscus and strawberry.

Beyond running a series of necessary errands, today has been a totally chill kind of day. People out in the world have been kind and lovely, mostly. I have spent a good part of the day either speaking with or eavesdropping on people with delicious accents. I stopped into a DTs for a sample of whatever they are brewing and left with a little bag and a couple of very lovely conversations swirling in my head and a free cup of this. I then took my lavender tea to the bookstore and spent a very pleasant time there too. And left with another bag.

So grateful for beautiful spring days filled with moments that make you believe that all is well with the world.

I brewed this for the first time today to get me through a long and particularly boring afternoon at work. Since Chicago is still stubbornly clinging onto winter, I brewed it hot. I really enjoyed it! I’m on a lavender kick right now (which is why I sought this tea out and bought it), but I was pleasantly surprised that the lavender taste is pretty well balanced by the flavor of strawberry. The tea has a natural sweetness to it, and a mildly tart finish. Can’t wait to try this iced!

I was a little vary of this one due to the lavender (I’m not a huge fan of floral teas), but I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised by the taste (and I do love the fact that it’s organic)! I got a strong strawberry flavour (yay) out of my cup, and the lavender wasn’t as bad as I thought it’d be. I had this hot (it still feels like winter out, le sigh), and it is definitely a relaxing-type tea. I’d love to try it iced, see if I like it as much. Out of the three samples I picked up yesterday (this, Spa Day and Vanilla Rose), I think this is my favourite. I

I picked up 25g of this on Sunday. I just had to. Every time I went on the Davids website, there it was taunting me…“Try me! Try me! I’ll be a great bedtime tea!”

I had originally intended on buying 50g, but the sales person warned me that she felt it was too flowery. But I had to try it any way.

That evening I anxiously brewed myself a cup. I always follow the instructions when it comes to tea, so I did 5 minutes at 96. I found the flavour less powerful than I had expected. Just a soft warm cozy tea. Strawberry stuck out the most, but I also tasted the lavender.

Last night I brewed a second cup, and then thanks to my crying baby, about half the cup was forgotten. Not to let a good thing go to waste, I downed the remainder cold this morning. JACKPOT! This is AWESOME cold.

I wanted to try this tea because I’m always looking for new teas to drink before bed. I don’t always sleep well and a relaxing drink is always welcome. At first, I was afraid that the rose taste would be too much. My conclusion is that I found the tea to be more fruity than floral. It was good and I could taste the sour raisin that I also found in Green Passionfruit.
The downside of this tea is that its flavour seemed overwhelming to me. I had a hard time finishing my cup because, after half of it, I had had enough. Maybe I’ll try steeping it weaker next time.
Of course, when I don’t finish a cup of tea, I put it in the fridge so I can drink it later. Once it had cooled, I had a sip. I found it better because it had lost some strength.
I’d say cold wins over hot for this one.
Am I gonna buy again? We’ll see.

This is one of my all-time favourite before bedtime teas. The flavour is outstanding – light, matches the scent of the dried tea (rare for DT, I know) and doesn’t leave an aftertaste. I was really surprised to read (after drinking my first cup blindly) that this blend contained my arch nemesis: hibiscus. It is light and barely noticeable, thankfully.

I serve mine before bed, err… in bed – hot and in my favourite glass mug. I’ve had it the past 3 nights in a row and have fallen asleep immediate afterwards – hooray!

I will definitely be buying a tin of this beauty!
