Day 4/24

This one has never really interested me (I’ve never found that lavender has a particularly pleasant taste, even it it smells amazing), so I was really surprised to have quite enjoyed this one.

The lavender is definitely pretty prominent, but it is so without being too perfume-y. There’s also substantial strawberry notes that I wasn’t expecting (mostly cause I didn’t really read much about this after hearing “lavender”). Not too tart. Not too anything really. A lovely, well-rounded tea that would be perfect before bed. Might consider picking some up for my mom for Christmas.

My one complaint is that I would’ve preferred today’s tea to have a bit more caffeine in order to aid my studying for tomorrow’s exam, but such is life. I can make up another cup of something later.

I quite like this one too. You can always add a hit of mate to it to liven it up.

I just tried a cup of this today because I felt like trying something new. It tastes of herbs, dried flowers, and fruit. I can taste hibiscus (but it isn’t a sour tisane overall), lavender, chamomile, rose, lavender, and something fruity. I’m not sure what sort of fruit, but it tastes like it belongs in a herbal tisane or granola bar. I like the mild sweetness from the fruit; this makes for a fine iced or hot tea.

One of the things I love most about teas is that while there might be a real consensus here and there, many times taste is a very situated preference, something that is articulated differently in everyone. That’s my disclaimer. I didn’t care for this tea.

Hibiscus right up front and center. Tight and tart. Is it too much to mention that this is the exact opposite of “serenity” for me? Spearmint is definitely present too. It’s a little like your grandmother’s travel perfume leaked in her purse and drowned her pack Wrigley’s at the bottom. Not for me. Couldn’t make it through the cup.

Upping my rating on this one. I really do enjoy it, and the name alone brings me joy. Lightly minty with a nice balance of tart and sweet. I love the berries with the spearmint, and just a hint of rose. Can’t taste the lavender, which is a shame.

This is my favourite tea from DavidsTea. Refreshing and soothing and perfect for any time of day. I personally really enjoy floral teas, particularly rose which is a principal flavour here. You get very different flavours depending how you steep it. A shorter steep will yield a complex flavour with lavender up front. 3-4 minutes will give you a balanced floral/ fruity strawberry flavour. After 4-5 minutes the currants and hibiscus take over.

I usually dislike herbal teas. Despite that, I really liked this one.
The lavender is fragrant and soothing. The fruit bits add a nice sweetness and a touch of tartness. I might have to buy a proper stash.

Hmmm… Very pretty, but also sour without much flavor.

I have fallen in love with this tea. It’s absolutely lovely. The gentle fruitiness of this one with the calming lavender is such a great combo. And the interesting part? I’ve only had this one iced. I know I should try it hot, but I just love it cold so much. I have this one several times a week right now iced because I love it so much.
And funny enough, as someone that doesn’t like hibiscus, this one is surprising because the hibiscus isn’t that strong. Honestly, it’s very hard to even notice it’s in there.
