From DAVIDsTEA

This might just be the most decadently creamy fruit infusion we’ve ever tasted. Seriously. It’s almost crazy how much it tastes like a warm and comforting apple pudding. Our caffeine-free blend combines sweet apples, golden raisins and a rich and creamy hint of vanilla. Go ahead, indulge. With this in your cupboard, who needs dessert?

Ingredients (Original): Apples, golden raisins, coriander, chamomile, natural and artificial vanilla flavouring

Ingredients (10th Anniversary Update): Apples, golden raisins, coriander, calendula petals, natural and artificial vanilla flavouring. (May contain coconut)

Comforting, milky, light tea. Not overly fruity – scent matches taste.

This is a fun tea! It’s so sweet and rich. Lovely black but can’t wait to try with a bit of cream and sugar.

I am completely loving this almost vanilla type tea. I love it that it both reminds me of winter with warm baked goods as comfort during a chilly winter, and also of summer days fill with treats.

Books recommended for this tea are: The Monday Night Cooking School (The School of Essential Ingredients #1) by Erica Bauermeister and Circle of Friends by Maeve Binchy

Having earned another free tea I decided to check DT and here for recommendations on what to get and decided upon this one.

On its own it’s rather unimpressive. As one other poster mentioned I also found myself tasting something rather “mineral-y”. I would have to agree that it’s the chamomile giving this taste.

Adding milk and turbinado sugar does help improve the taste, but it’s still not enough to win me over. I like to have the option of drinking tea straight as well as with milk/turbinado. Apple Custard doesn’t offer the former choice. Pity.

Soooo…this was the third tea that I tried today! I may have a slight tea problem lol.
I think I’ve had this in a sample before, but while I was in store today I asked to smell it. It smelled so lovely! Really sweet though. I wasn’t originally planning on buying any, but when the lady helping me said it’s discontinued now and the big tin she had was all that they have left I caved and bought 52g.

I find this tea to be realllllllly sweet. I don’t usually like things this sweet, but this tea isn’t all that bad. It lives up to its name, that’s for sure. It is very creamy and rich, almost dessert-like. Apple definitely comes through in this but its not overpowering. The vanilla flavor is the most prominent. I kind of wish the sweetness was cut back a little bit and it was a bit tangier, but hey! It is what it is! I’ll definitely be enjoying my last little bit of this tea. Its not my favorite, but its good for a night when you need something sweet!

One of my favourites from the winter collection this year! So delicious. Its fruity, sweet and such a good dessert tea. I actually cold steeped this in milk the other night… OH MY GOODNSSAMAZING! I’m not a huge milk drinker, but with this tea steeped with milk I could drink milk all day. It was a sweet delicious milky treat!

Wishing I had bought more of this. I’m going to need to savour my 50g.

This tea is the Bomb! Does anyone use that as an adjective anymore?
Well it is!

I initially ordered just a little stackable tin of it as a sample, and before i finished the small tin i ordered 200g of it. Not enough! because it’s dense you get less than a tin full. oh well guess i have to order more!

This tea is my go-to bedtime tea (i mix it with Egyptian chamomile, it’s my sleep inducing night cap) do not let the apple custard title deter you. The apple blends well so that it comes out sweet, not tart. it is a lightly sweet and creamy (if you like that sort of thing) little delightful tea that brews to a pale yellow colour and smells wonderful.
you can not help but smile as the aroma permeates your nostrils as you lift your favorite tea cup to your lips to taste the first sip!

but seriously now, most David’s Tea’s are guilty of having an artificial taste to them (you know the one i’m talking about) Although Apple Custard has artificial flavours as well, you can not taste the difference.

If you are into herbals, a hint of chamomile, and creamy teas, this one is for you, give it a try! you won’t regret it, and if you do, send it to me! =)

This tea tastes like butter tarts to me. I steep it for 10 minutes and the golden raisins in it is a very nice touch. I wish they had this tea in the permanent collection. I bought around 700 grams of this tea!

This probably ranks as my favourite tea from this season’s Winter Collection. It has a nice fruity-apple flavour combined with sweet, creamy vanilla. Add some honey or other sweetener and then the flavours really pop. An excellent dessert tea.
