Ever heard of a snickerdoodle? We swear we didn’t make it up. It’s actually one of the yummiest cookies around – soft, chewy dough coated in warm cinnamon sugar. And this decadently toasty blend captures the taste right in your cup. The surprise ingredient? Monk fruit – a traditional ingredient from China that’s 300 times sweeter than sugar. Blended with cinnamon, rooibos and pieces of brittle, it makes for a bakery-worthy treat you can enjoy guilt-free. It’s snickerdoodle dandy.

I was drawn to this tea because of the smell – mmm, so good! Brewed, it really does have that cookie taste. It’s sweet so it doesn’t need any more sugar (yay!) and it makes a good dessert tea. The cinnamon and brittle with the rooibos base blend beautifully to give you that cookie taste. It’s buttery with a nip from the cinnamon. The spices give this tea an autumnal feel. I really hope David’s Tea brings this back again next fall. In the meantime, I’m glad I have a stash of it.

I’m enjoying this more than I thought I would. It tastes like a sugar cookie with an abundance of cinnamon, which is fairly close to what a snickerdoodle is. Close, but not right on. And there’s a weird aftertaste I can’t really describe, but the flavor left on my tongue is not one I’d search out. A pleasant cup, but not one I care to repeat.

Day #15 of tea! Mmm, tastes like cookies! I’ve had this blend before, but I decided to add milk to it this time and I found I liked this much better! I like that this tea isn’t as sweet as some other dessert types, yet still tastes enough like a dessert.

Well, not as interesting as I had hoped. It seemed heavy on the cinnamon compared to snickerdoodles that I’ve had. Even though it was heavily leafed it still seemed like a weak chai.

I expected better :(

Have you tried it with milk? It makes it taste sooo much better to me. Calms down the cinnamon a bit and replaces it with creaminess..

Good idea! Thanks!

I’ve never had this and my comment is pretty much useless, but I’m making snuckerdoodle cookies right now! Mrs. Sigg’s Recipe:
1/2 cup butter, softened
1/2 cup shortening
1 1/2 cups white sugar
2 eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons cream of tartar
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons white sugar
2 teaspoons ground cinnamon

Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C). Cream together butter, shortening, 1 1/2 cups sugar, the eggs and the vanilla. Blend in the flour, cream of tartar, soda and salt. Shape dough by rounded spoonfuls into balls. Mix the 2 tablespoons sugar and the cinnamon. Roll balls of dough in mixture. Place 2 inches apart on ungreased baking sheets. Bake 8 to 10 minutes, or until set but not too hard. Remove immediately from baking sheets.

How were they, Nightshifter? I have all the ingredients except butter (I usually sub margarine), and am debating making cookies…

Good! I’m eating a couple right now for breakfast with Golden Fleece. YUM! :)

Disappointing. This basically tastes like a watered down chai tea. In my opinion If I wanted a caffeine free chai tea I’d just have coco chai rooibos from DAVID’s.

I was disappointed by this one too. The name made it sound so promising!

I know! As did the ingredients. Luckily I only had 25grams..

I got a sample of this and I loved the smell right of the bat. So much that I sealed off the sample in a zip lock bag so I can remind myself how nice it smells. It’s cinammony and tastes nicely spicy but it doesn’t wow me.

I really like this. It’s sweet but not over-the-top sweet. The flavour does remind me of a snickerdoodle cookie. I love the aroma once it’s steeped. It smells really good! Just like a sweet, baked dessert you’d find in a bakery. This is one of those teas that fills the need if you’re craving something sweet but don’t want all the fat and calories. I add a bit of milk in mine to make it taste a bit creamier but I don’t think it’s really necessary, I’m sure it’s just as good with nothing added. This is another one that I’ll want to keep on hand so I can treat myself now and then. I can see serving this to guests and them really loving it too.

Tea of the afternoon, I was looking for another rooibos option and figured I would try this. Of course it would be nice to have a tea that tasted liked cookies but I’m not sure this really fits the bill.

I wonder if I added too much leaf to this but for now, this seems VERY high on the cinnamon, has lots of sweetness and fruity from the apple. I liked this a bit better when soymilk was added but I can’t figure out why this is so sweet — is it the brittle? Kind of overwhelming in the flavor department and reminds me more of cinnamon gummy bears than a snickerdoodle. For now this gets a “meh”, I wish I liked David’s Tea more but so many blends seem to fall into the “meh” category… I will try this with black tea or maybe some plain rooibos to see if it can be toned down.

I tried it in store. Do not like it at all. Taste weird.

After I read the reviews it seemed like a lot of people agree.

boychik

For me it was like cinnamon water.

TeaBrat

I wonder if I can return it?

I tried this quite awhile ago, and I didn’t write down any notes for it. I remember that it was sweet, and vaguely tasted of gingersnaps. That is about all I remember though, so I will have to write down some notes next time.

Sampled this in store today, and my first impression was that wow, this really does taste like the cookie! but subsequent sips just didn’t seem to carry the same complexity. Nice to sample, nothing I really need.
