From DAVIDsTEA

Drink it fireside

Traditional Chinese medicine says walnuts are a warming food. Which makes sense, because this is the kind of tea you spontaneously want to cozy up to on a cold winter afternoon. The comforting, lightly bitter taste of toasted walnuts is sweetened and deepened with dried pineapple, coconut, almond and organic green tea. Sip it in front of an open fire and chase away the cold.

Ingredients: Chinese sencha green tea, nut brittle, candied pineapple, coconut rasps, almond flakes, walnut bits.

One of the most pleasant teas to drink! I absolutely love the smell, I can’t believe I have never come across anything like this before! The coconut and cream smells I am getting from this make me think I am drinking a wonderful light dessert :)

It’s not as nutty as I hoped it would be, but that’s actually alright – it maintains a great balance between nut and coconut, with a bit of a grassy bite. I steeped it for a little too long I think and so it’s quite astringenty, but still easy enough to drink. I’ll have to review it again when I don’t forget to leave it steeping.

The smell of it raw is incredible. The walnut is definitely there, as is an almond and coconut syrup smell, all toasted together for a slightly sweet nutty scent.

The first David’s tea I’d ever tried and good enough that I’m willing to try anything they do! Heavenly! The walnut and coconut go so well with the green tea, so smooth but great flavour too. Comforting and warming.

This is hands down one of my favourite teas ever. I find it a perfect balance of green tea and nutty flavours. I prefer to drink it on a cool day, bundled up on the couch with a blanket. Definitely one that will be part of my permanent collection.

It definitely has the hint of pineapple since it’s got a tangy aftertaste. It definitely tastes like walnut and coconut. It’s a good tea for a rainy day or a winter night… a-la “chestnuts roasting on an open fire!” feel except it’s walnuts, lol. It’s good without sweetening it and I prefer this one hot since it’s nice and nutty.

This tea is a bit surprising. The taste is a bit different from what you’d expect when you first smell it. The aroma it gives is super sweet, but once steeped it’s almost slightly bitter. It’s really nice (I’m not a fan of super sweet). This is one I’ll be purchasing time and time again.

this tea smells AMAZING. seriously. just the smell alone made me instantly buy a tin! i have to disagree with the other reviewers though and say that i think it tastes great even on it’s own! the taste isn’t quite as strong as the smell, but it’s very similar. to the reviewer that said it was bitter, did you steep in 80-90C water of right off of a boil? you may have burnt it causing it to taste bitter! anyway, definitely worth a try, it’s one of my faves!
