From DAVIDsTEA

Now that’s fresh

When it comes to rooibos, some say green is the new red. Because while red rooibos tastes great, some say the new wave of unoxidized green rooibos is even better. What’s so special? The production process, which is similar to that of green tea, gives it a smooth, fresh taste. Here we’ve topped it up with the tropical flavours of papaya, apple, mango and peach. (MK Kosher)

Ingredients: Fair Trade Certified South African green and red rooibos, apple, mango, papaya. With artificial and natural flavouring*.

I am really enjoying this tea, far more than I thought I would. This is my fifth cup of tea of the day (holy smokes!) and I’m enjoying it with a nice juicy clementine. Yum. Very fruity, very juicy. Definitely something I plan to keep in stock.

I bought this for my Swampwater-addicted daughter so that we could share a cup of tea in the afternoon or at bedtime. Unfortunately, she didn’t seem to like it all that much at first, so I’m experimenting with how to make it taste more delicious.
We’re trying it today with no milk, just a little bit of sugar.
Full disclosure: I do not like papaya. Like, not even a little bit. It’s not quite down there with cilantro, but it’s pretty low on my list of likes.
The smell is friendly enough. The papaya is there, but it’s really low. I’m getting a delicious candied fruit vibe from this tea.
Ooooh, wow, I put way too much sugar in here!
But it’s delicious.
The fruitiness is almost like a mouthful of grapes, strawberries, apples or some other juicy fruit. (Not specifically those flavours, just the feeling each of them evoke.)
I’m sure this would be tasty iced, but I’m glad I’m drinking it hot. The juiciness is kind of cooling with a very warm after-effect. Quite nice. I’m thinking my problem the first time was steeping it at the higher end of the recommended range. The low end leaves me with a lovely tea; not overpowering like the last one tended to be.
I think I’ll brew this up for my toddler to enjoy while I’m preparing her dinner. (My dinner is a lovely dinner out at a simple italian restaurant here called Dacquisto, to be preceeded by appliance shopping with the husband. First date night since dinner and White Christmas at Manitoba Theater Centre just before Christmas! Woo!)

This tea is nice and refreshing. The big chunks of fruit are great. I can’t believe this! A couple months ago I balked at any tea mentioning fruitiness. Anyway, yes. Fruity and refreshing. I haven’t had it iced but will someday when there is nicer weather to get me in the mood.

I often choose rooibos as my take-to-work tea; I make it in my travel mug as I’m rushing out the door as it doesn’t get bitter on my way to work. I like to carry it on the streetcar and have it to drink once I get to the office. I need to learn that this tea isn’t so great for that; if you over-steep it, it starts tasting kind of off. Like bad wine, thanks to the fruit.

Otherwise, it’s a standby for me when I want something fruity!

Finished this off last night, and it has a lot of similarities to Lupicia’s Jardin Sauvage, though I think this might be less sweet. This rooibos is definitely fruity, with hints of mango flavor against a general “tropical” backdrop. The green rooibos isn’t too aggressive, but you can still taste it.

I enjoyed this more when it was closer to room temperature or chilled, so if I ever decided to by it again, I’d go for cold-brewing it to test.

I cold brewed this overnight.
This is quite good, but I think I like red rooibos better.
It is refreshing though and I can taste the papaya and mango.

I first bought this tea in a “David’s Top 3” pack for three friends for Christmas. Of course, I opened each little container to smell them – who could resist doing that?
Fast forward one month later, I finally tried this tea in a to-go cup.
Fast forward another whole month after that and I have finally bought my own 30g pouch of it.

This tea is worth buying. It’s sweet all on its own and the fruity tastes are easy to detect, but not overwhelming. The rooibos and fruit chunks really complement each other. Can’t wait til summer so I can make this iced!

Got this free in-store today because it’s LEAP day, can’t argue with that!

Hot: It’s alright, rooibos-y (should be called greonbos—Afrikaans for green bush—since it’s not the red variety, it’s green), fruity and sweet.

Cold: Absolutely, without a doubt, one of the BEST iced teas around! Needs barely any sweetener since the rooibos + fruit do some of that already. Just a splash of agave and you’re ready to go on a journey towards iced tea nirvana, my friends. Now I’m sipping this and wishing spring would hurry up and get here!

This was my first tea I ever tried from DavidsTea and I love it! It’s tropical blend is naturally sweet so you don’t need to add much sugar. I drink this morning, afternoon and night! It’s caffeine free so I don’t have to worry about having a cup right before bed. Green&Fruity got me hooked on DT! Nothing measures up to loose-leaf tea; I can’t imagine myself ever going back to drinking boxed tea again.

I went into DavidsTea while I was walking around after work last week, and since I don’t need any new teas right now (I’m working to make room though!!), I decided to just get a cup of tea to go. I like green rooibos, so I decided to try one I hadn’t had before, and this was recommended. And boy was it tasty! I find that some teas with dried fruit in them don’t really carry the flavour through once steeped – they smell great but you can’t taste it. But this one really delivered! Once again, green rooibos has failed to let me down!
