This is the last of the three new cold brews from this summer!
I ended up not writing a tasting note for this one initially because it’s the only one of the three that I didn’t have in my own personal tea stash, so I wanted to wait until I could retaste it from our office – just to have the taste fresh in my mind.
I have to say that of the three cold brews this year, this is probably my least favourite. It’s not even because of the green tea, which might be most people’s first though knowing my history with green tea. The base doesn’t really come out much at all in this brew though, so my main thing is just that I love another one of the Spring/Summer teas so much more and that’s Strawberry Kiwi Capri. It’s not a cold brew, but it still launched as part of our seasonal assortment and there’s no denying that there’s definitely some flavour overlap…
Big differences, in my opinion, is that I find this cold brew a lot more intensely sweet and tart strawberry. There’s still kiwi in it, but it’s just a bolder tea overall in terms of flavour and I prefer less tartness personally. I think fans of blends like Strawberry Rhubarb Parfait might appreciate some of the snap to the top notes of this cold brew because there’s definitely some similarity in style – but it’s just not personally my preference.
Friendly reminder that I do not numerically rate DAVIDsTEA blends as I’m currently employed there and it would be an obvious conflict of interest. Any blends you see with numerical ratings were rated prior to my employment there. These reviews are a reflection of my personal thoughts and feelings regarding the teas, and not the company’s.
