I think this is for the right tea. The sachet just says “Caramel”, but the website address page says " https://www.dammann.fr/en/the-noir-parfume-caramel-toffee.html, so it looks as though they’ve dropped the “Toffee” from the name.

The packaging is here: https://app.photobucket.com/u/courtneyns/a/2eba83e2-030c-403a-a15f-3b627d03b25b/p/b7a1606f-010f-48f6-9b8f-3fd9c18480f4?mode=zoom

This is a wee sample DF sent and it smells very buttery caramel-like in the dry sachet. The steeped scent is a bit lessened, but still tasty smelling.

The tea itself seems a bit thin in flavour, but this could just be the DF delicate flavouring. Lex said “_I love it!_”. I wish we had a wee bit more to experiment with, because I feel like this one really has potential!

Edit: The tea is now cold and the buttery flavour with hints of caramel has come forward and it’s even tastier.

Sipdown! (105)

I think I might have added a bit too much water…
I only had 2g left and I put in 8oz so…
Dude. I don’t remember drinking this tea though. It might have been Valentine’s day when we were watching Rent? I think that was it?
Ahhh but I rated this an 85 before so it must be good! I just finished going out grocery shopping and I finished lunch and things, so it’s time for dessert!
Yep. This is a bit watered down aww :( Oh well. I have more dessert teas with me so I’ll have those soon :)

The perfect caramel blend, I have never had such a spot-on blend that wasn’t too sweet and delivered the perfect caramel-toffee flavor. This blend was malty, sweet, and indulgent. It tasted just like some hot melty caramel swirled in a creamy, malty, and bold black tea base.

Here is my desert island caramel black tea. Drippy runny caramel. Sweet, but not over the top, with a teeny tiny bit of smoke on a fiesty black base.

This sounds like a good reason for me to start putting together a DM order…

Evol Ving Ness

I won’t talk you out of it.

But you might want to hold off until the DF advent results all pour in.

Crowkettle

There’s almost unanimous consensus on this one too :P

Evol Ving Ness

The caramel is similar to the Oolong au Beurre Sale.

Crowkettle

I have that tea and the caramel is excellent!

ashmanra

Ooooooo…

EmmaM

Ohhhh, how I love this one! The caramel is on point!

I would love to see some more current reviews on this, because it’s a little odd for me. I mean, I like it, but unlike what Sil mentioned several years ago, I find that the caramel taste definitely buries the tea flavor, so I wonder if the formulation has changed a bit. For me, it’s a tasty, desserty, caramel beverage which will be very excellent whenever I want that, but I probably won’t want it a lot. Or I might blend it with some other tea that seems to me would be good with a bit more caramel or maybe blend with a fruit tisane. Like I probably want to have this around, but I’m not going to run out anytime soon, because it’s a horse for a course.

I didn’t detect the papaya here, and also don’t think I get much toffee from this, but I’ll need to try it a few more times. At the moment I’m neither recommending nor not recommending, because if you are expecting something more subtle, like many of the DF teas that do a really good job of delivering a certain flavor profile while remaining unambiguously “tea” it may disappoint. But if you love a rich dessert-y caramel, you will most likely love this.

I had high hopes for this one. Caraemel-Toffee, I mean how could you go wrong? The base is cardboard and the only thing the flavor offers up is a little bit of sweetness to the cup. The sample is old and it is a sample so I will not write off the tea yet, but boo. Slightly disappointed.

So this is pretty good, and surprisingly syrupy for a tea. I had this straight western and it is what it says. I could also taste the papaya and loved that aspect to it…and I ate it. It is a little too sweet, but somehow sugar ties the sweetness together. Probably good with cream but I prefer it as is. I think I would probably like a Pu-Erh version of this….they are every where a stores.

Tea Time tea! Thanks, again, Dinosara! Tasty toffee goodness! It smells so much like toffee! You can almost taste it in the air! I wanted it to taste sweet, as well, because it didn’t have much sweetness on it’s own, even though my brain wanted it to be sweet. There was some smokiness in the background… I think they make caramel flavored teas on smokey bases to add some of that burnt sugar flavor of real caramel (though I really don’t think caramel tastes burnt, more like toasted- can you tell I’m a golden-browned marshmallow girl?). I wish they wouldn’t do that, but this tea was not bad in that sense at all. Mostly this was a tasty that I would have loved to have on an autumn day/in front of a fire, but it was better with sugar, it made the caramel flavor REALLY caramelly!

This has such a nice caramelized smell! Instead of adding sugar, I added a dollop of vanilla whipped cream that I had in the fridge and it really elevated the toffee flavor. This was a nice hot cup of creamy caramelized goodness.~

This is a sample that shmiracles sent me a while back but I never got around to making a tasting note. I’m already craving another cup! Thank you :)
