This is a sipdown!

I really enjoyed this tea. It was good hot and iced, and it was awesome that it was caffeine free so I had another evening option that had nice flavor.

I stand by former statements – it made me love green rooibos, tastes apple and peachy, was refreshing and resteeped like a champ. I always made three and combined them.

It is always a treat to find an herbal tea that leads with something other than lemon or mint. Nary a trace of either in this lovely little nightcap. I am learning to love green rooibos, and it makes a very pleasant base for the marshmallows and fruit. None of the fruit flavors stand out individually—-or at least in my small Advent-sized sample—-just gently and pleasantly fruity and sweet. Another review recommend overleafing a bit; I believe I’d agree with that.

I think Youngest said this was kne of her favorites. I like it as iced sweet tea, too!

I’ve mentioned before that the downside of tiny samples of multi-ingredient tea is you may not be getting all the goodness in that one tiny spoonful…I can only imagine how a nice, generous glomph of it would be on ice.

The main flavor here is the pillowy soft green rooibos and marshmallow root. There’s also some lovely fruitiness that I can’t quite name. This one does better overleafed so you can really taste the flavors. It’s the tastiest, most cohesive green rooibos blend I’ve had in a while. The flavor is light, but perfect.

Ooh! I still handful of unopened Advent samples! I’m going to have to go see if this one is in the bunch. I love anything Nichole does that has marshmallow root in it!

AJRimmer

Agreed! This particular blend usually includes mini marshmallows, but she very kindly substituted marshmallow root in my teas to make them vegetarian. This has definitely become one of my favorite tea shops!

2021 sipdown no. 34

I drank entire cup this without really even realizing it as I attempted to complete an assignment in R, which is apparently not the easiest thing. I also missed the timer on the steeping time because I had awesome new noise cancelling headphones on haha. Bit of a catastrophe with the tea prep today.

However, I barely took note of any flavours here! I do remember it tasting like a summery juice. Maybe some peach, which came off very realistic, and some strawberry which was also realistic. I love when companies use green rooibos as a base rather than red, so this tea already had a head start.

Thanks for a great cuppa Nichole :)

Ohhhh I hated R. Hopefully they’ve improved it since the last time I messed with it, but for me, it was just so complicated to set up a calculation, when a single button click could do it in SPSS.

I completely get VariaTEA ‘s note of Fruit Loops. I don’t know if the taste same/very similar to our jelly rings, but hey it was exactly that flavour what I would expect from Fruit Loops as well.

Peach was the strongest note today, marshmellow in made the brew quite on sweet side and enjoyable. I don’t think I have noticed other fruits somehow distinctive; but it was mild and quite nice for the afternoon, lecture drink.

I have lots of this one so I can make big cold pitchers of it!

CuppaGeek Advent Calendar – Day 1

This is the tea I grabbed out. Actually, its the one my sister grabbed. I insisted her and my brother-in-law open the advents with me. They were not nearly as excited as I was but here we are haha.

This was an interesting one to have today given how much snow I woke up to. I realized now the picture I took could have been infinitely better if I put it in the snow but not possible now. Oh well.

Anyways, the tea itself is good. It’s got great fruit flavor. It’s honestly a bit fruit loops like for me. At least what I remember of fruit loops since its been forever since I had them. This tea also boasts peach and strawberry ingredients and I can see how this tea leans into those flavors a bit. Though no fruit flavor is overly distinct. I also like that marshmallows add a fluffiness here that pairs with the fruit notes well.
