From Chawangshop

This tea come from Mengsong mountain, wild arbor tea garden. Trees are 80-120 years old, growing wild in forest.¨ We visited this garden in Januar 2015 and very like the place. We bought first harvest which was just lest than 30kg.

Hand processing in every step and sun-dried, traditional stone pressed in December 2016.

Typical Mengsong taste, aromatic tea soup, sweet, full and strong, bittersweet long aftertaste. Compare with 2015 Mengsong we sold out, this tea is stable for more infusions.

Manufacturer : Cha Wang Shop

Production date: Late March 2016

Harvest Area : Mengsong mountain, Menghai, Xishuanbanna

A pleasant, though mostly unremarkable, young sheng. Good buttery texture in the mouth with some bitterness and a bit of a sticky feeling, especially in the early steeps. A mostly floral flavor with some hints of vegetal stuff going on in early steeps. The last few steeps were clean and semi-sweet floral.

This is a very nice, simple, high quality young sheng. It brews up thick, and the leaf quality is very nice. The flavor is not too complex – just a nice simple buttery fruity young sheng. There is very little bitterness until later steepings, and even then, it is muted. It is a great tea, and very cheap for this quality – only $24 for a 200g cake.

I’ll have to get some of this. You are the third person I see who says it is good.

I have been wanting to age this a bit more but……you know..

Rich

Yeah, I get the impression this may fall flat with age. But maybe after 30 years it will be a gem!

Based on your notes, this seems very similar to the 2015, which has improved a lot since then.. more tropical fruits and also some Menghai bitterness.
