A coworker just came back from a vacation in Portugal, and she brought this tea back with her for myself and some coworkers to try. I love an experimental tea and tea from a unique terroir, and this Portugese-grown oolong definitely ticks off BOTH boxes!

I enjoyed this much more than the Port Barrel scented tea from the same company. The leaf itself is very coarse and rough looking, with a lot of stems and uneven oxidation. It reminds me of the highly experimental and unrefined tea from Westholme in Victoria, BC (here in Canada) that I tried while visiting their garden. However, despite the poor appearance, the tea it produced was nice! Lighter bodied for an oolong, but with warm and naturally sweet notes of honey and grains and a clean, crisp finish. Definitely very easy to sip on and inoffensive even through the tasting notes were a bit simplistic. I would very happily drink it again!
