English Breakfast

I am actually surprised. This came from a k-cup. It came with my Keurig and I was like meh, I got this to make coffee because every once in awhile I want some and I waste coffee beans, plus I like variety and it was more cost effective for me in that coffee realm. Everyone I know is a coffee drinker so if they’re over I got them covered easily!
So it always made sense to me that it’d work well to make coffee, but to me it was bizarre for tea. Like, I really didn’t think it could make an okay cup of tea at all because of how quick it is, I thought I would get some slightly golden colored water that slightly tasted like tea. Finally tonight I gave into my curiosity about it and made it. I was impressed how dark it turned out and how it actually tasted like most of the breakfast tea I had while studying abroad in France.

So of course I had to open it up and look at it afterwards because it felt so much lighter than the coffee ones. It’s basically like a 2-3x as filled tea bag in a cup so I guess it works. I wouldn’t ever go out of my way to buy actually buy these, but if it works for some people, then it works!

It’s nice in a pinch. A descent black tea. not offensive and definitely worth trying if you are at a restaurant and want a black tea.

Not bad considering I got it from a dinning hall. It wasn’t particularly exciting but it is a nice basic black tea. I enjoyed.

Sometimes I forget Celestial Seasonings does anything but herbal teas. This one (a tad past its prime) was on the “out-of-date-please-buy-it-ridiculously-cheap” cart at the local indie grocery and I snagged it for work. Even slightly past due, this is a decently balanced “just tea.” Not too sharp or acidic, not beastly bitter after letting it go cold. Drinkable without milk. All pluses for my messy day job desk.

The running theme of these Celestial Seasonings packets I got for Christmas is that they are not exceptional, not bad, mostly forgettable.
That makes them perfect work tea.
This was a bit too astringent for my tastes, but not enough to make it undrinkable. Still, I am glad I only have one packet of it!

St. Elias Specialty Hospital in Anchorage, Alaska, serves this alongside cocoa and coffee in Keurig cups. I reused my mum’s k-cup (because I’m devious), and the second brewing was actually pretty dark and tasty. The only bad thing is that I reused my coffee cup, too, and got some coffee taste in there, so I couldn’t get a really good taste of the tea (hence no rating). I haven’t seen black teas from Celestial Seasonings where I live, so I’m going to seek them out next time I go to the store.

This is my first tea review on someone else’s tea. I hope I do this right, kind of stepping out of my box since I mostly drink my own teas and have a hard time trying others. I was at Pagosa Hot Springs Colorado this past weekend and this was one of the offered tea’s. I am not a big fan of tea bag tea but it was available, free and I was very much wanting a black tea. I thought the color turned out ok and the aroma felt black tea. I read the ingredients and it said “black tea” which makes me wonder “what kind of black tea”? I drank the tea but did not finish the cup. I felt it had a harshness and bitter aftertaste and was not as smooth as other black tea’s I have had. But again, I am not a tea bag fan and it was a complimentary tea. I understand why hotels and restaurants use tea bags…they are convenient. I would not buy this tea but for a tea bag free tea it wasn’t that bad. It was a lesson learned in that I need to bring my own tea along with Tea-sacs next trip.

It’s tasty! Not as good as Twinings English Breakfast, but it’s good in a pinch.
