From Capital Tea Ltd.

The name says it all. Big bold black leaves with some silver buds. These leaves produce an amazingly smooth and refined tea liquor with a rich fully developed muscatel flavour. These leaves can be infused for a wide range of steeping times to produce both lighter and fuller bodied tea liquors without becoming overly bitter. Very Highly Recommended!

Thanks Dexter! So strangely enough…even though the muscatel in this one is like HEY LOOK AT ME! I am enjoying this one. I don’t typically really enjoy darjeelings, but the next thing i knew, i was at the bottom of this mug going ..oopsy….i drank it all? There’s something in the smoothness of this one that just makes it easy to drink and rather enjoyable. Not something i’d pick myself, but i’m glad that they sent this along to dexter as a free sample so i got to try it!

Edit: 140! go me! woot woot!

This is by far the best darjeeling I’ve had. I would never have ordered this. Love when free samples work out that way.
Congrats on 140. :))

TeaLady441

Gj on 140! So, are you going to be at 250 AFTER Black Friday? :P

Sil

God no. Hoping to stay near 150. Though I’m half tempted to see how low I can go

TeaLady441

Let’s see you catch up to me! >:O
(I bought tea from VariaTEA and Janelle so I’ll be heading up your way!)

TeaLady441

(I just realized I have about 28 incoming and that’s not even with my Black Friday orders. :O So, never mind. You’ll be lower than me)

Sipdown #64, also from Sil, who received it from Dexter. Thanks girls!
Not really much to say about this one. I shared a pot of it with Ari during breakfast, & although it was pleasant, it didn’t knock my socks off or anything like that.
Sorry for the lame review :)

Thank you Dexter3657 for sending me a sample of this tea. This has a strong fruity profile. This is the second darjeeling I’ve tried – the first one from Davids Tea. I think darjeeling is not for me. Although it’s not my preference I won’t have any trouble finishing off my sample.

This was the free sample (20g sample) that came with my order. I would never buy a darjeeling, haven’t really enjoyed the ones I’ve had.
The fact that I’m almost out of this, and not hating it, must indicate that it is more towards my tastes, but still not there. Surprisingly smooth though.

This is a lovely second-flush Darjeeling. It is full-bodied, smooth, deep, and pleasantly tannic, with that Darjeeling “tang” (at the end) that I have come to love about teas from this region. A fine tea indeed, but a tad pricey.

First infusion – 3 g. per 8 oz water, 90 deg., 1:30 min.

Second infusion – 3 g. per 8 oz. water, 90 deg., 6:00 min.

Third infusion – 3 g. per 8 oz. water, 90 deg., 10:00+ min.

Backlog!
What a pleasant cuppa tea. I quite enjoyed it.
Funny, lately I’ve come across a lot of 1st flush Darjeelings, so when I brewed this up, it slipped my mind that it wouldn’t have those crisp delicate notes. Took me by surprise, I tell ya.
After I got over the shock, I found it very tasty. Muscatel in nature, with a nice depth to it, and a very slight tangy edge. I’m looking forward to having it iced over the summer!!
