“2021 sipdown no. 63 This one has that mineral flavour but there’s also a lovely maltiness cut through with hints of floral here that adds a nice depth. The second steep has just slightly dulled...” Read full tasting note
Dan Cong roasted black wulongs are renown for their intoxicating aromatic complexity and this one is no exception. Mi Lan Xiang means “honey orchid fragrance” and once infused, the soft smelling, large, and dark leaves reveal surprising aromatics. Exotic (lychee), fleshy (apricot, ripe peach), and citrus (zests) fruit notes make a strong first impression. Afterwards, the mild woodsy and malted (beer on lees) notes are supported on the palate by a full liquor, with a sweet autumn honey finish.
